What would they have appealed? The verdict couldn't be appealed - only the ban which is worked out on a formula - so what was the appeal going to be?

So now you can't hate anyone because the FA tells you not to?
I'm tired of this ridiculous favouritism for "the scum". Oh and Evra should be banned for his stupid antics at the end.

Some people are so blind. Suarez shaking Evra's hand would have put the issue to bed, which is exactly what Suarez would have done had he said the comment. By refusing to shake Evra's hand he must be pretty adamant that Evra lied, regardless of what we think. As said already, I wouldn't shake the hand of someone who had dragged my name through the mud on a misconstrued comment said on-field. Hell, Evra was so unsure of what was said that he changed his statement multiple times. If you're going to be branding someone a racist then you gotta make damn sure you know what was said, and I don't think Evra can say that.

Yet you're below us in the table and we're still in the FA Cup and Champions league. What does that make you then?

Oh yea, positions mean prizes, oh wait, they don't. We're ****ing ****e at the moment but it still makes me laugh that we've won two trophies since you last won one 7 years ago. One of them was the Champions League, u keep trying to win one though. Keeps us smiliing.

Saurez admitted to using the words, a panel found him guilty and Liverpool didn't appeal. Now there is literally no evidence to support that Evra was lying but there is some to support that he was telling the truth. You cannot categorically say Suarez is innocent and there is no evidence to support it.

You all know if the roles were reversed and Evra was a Liverpool player then you would be supporting Evra.

Fair point regarding the latter. However Liverpool not appealing is no admission of guilt, and I think we would've taken a bit more care making our evidence stick before crying to the FA. Evra's 'witnesses' weren't even within earshot! He had no witnesses!

I don't even support a team that plays in the PL. Just giving my opinion on Suarez and the ridiculous FA. Having said that I do respect Liverpool as they are one of the all time greats.

And when LFC tried to talk to manyoo to diffuse the situation what did manyoo do? Nothing. Didn't want to know.

Cold up there on yer ****in' high horse, is it?

Agree 100%. well put. I would never have shaken his hand. Never

Bridge refused to shake Terry's hand - twice -! Nasri refused to shake Gallas' hand. I don't remember fergie calling them a disgrace to their respective clubs.

I think it's a shame that the incident wasn't put to bed today. IF Suarez is innocent then I can understand he would feel hugely resentful towards Evra, but by not shaking his hand I think he has done more damage to his reputation. Now the issue will just drag on and on when it could have been forgotten about and more questions will be asked of Suarez' personality.

Suarez is a great footballer, I think it would do him the world of good to just keep his head down and only make headlines through his fantastic footballing abilities.

I like Liverpool as a club, I think it's sad to see the name of such a great club in the headlines for the wrong reasons.

He's making the headlines 'cos the press aren't allowed to phone hack any more, this is rich pickings for them. I don't think he'll much care what they think.

He admitted to using it once. That's where the discrepancy is.
Using it once, you'd have a case of cultural differences. You could claim you let it slip because it's a word you're familiar with and you forgot about where you were. The conversation was also in Spanish, adding to the likelihood.
However, Evra claimed that Suarez used it '10 times', '5 times' and a whole host of other numbers of times. His story removed any kind of doubts akin to those mentioned above, essentially painting Suarez as a racist (despite also claiming he wasn't.)
So on that basis, you can see where Suarez's gripe is. This is obviously based on the fact he disagrees with Evra's version of events.

Suarez the bigger man in not rising to it.
