As it says on the tin, if you need any technical advice, or are able to advise someone who requires assistance, this is the place for it!
An original idea from Maestro!

I'll set the ball rolling then... How do you select an avatar? I'm completely computer illiterate, and have looked around, but still have no clue.

HfM, if you look at the top of the page where their 606 logo says 'freely' you'll see beneath that a tab that says 'forum actions'
Click that, and down the left hand side is a link to amend/update avatar. It will then ask you to upload a pic from your documents or from the computer - I've only ever done them from my own pics, but there are ways. Hope that makes sense <ok>

Avatars can be uploaded from almost anywhere, google images, photobucket, any website in fact, right click on the image and save...might need re-sizing though!

Is there any way we can bring the "silly jokes" thread over to here from The Snakepit? I've just been over there and read through some of them, there's some real belters on there and it seems a shame to lose them.

How many jokes are one there? Can you copy and paste them onto a word document, then clear it up, then repost it on here?
I know it's long winded, but that's the way I would attempt it if I wanted to do it.
And that's the reason I suggested a techie are to Dave <laugh>

You could go further...as I've seen one or two of you lot lamenting the demise of the "Snakepit", a Budgie exclusive site, why not set up a group similar, make it a private group, and have the same thing on here? Then you could indulge in all your Snakepit stuff like before?

Just a thought...

Ta Cromer, will do that shortly. :)

This is really one for the site owner or whoever actually maintains the site. The forum already has one or two filters which allow users a degree of control over what shows on their screen. Why not have one which lets users filter out posts from particular people? So if you get fed up with boring posts from robbieBB or inane posts from your least favourite WUM, you could just banish them from your bit of cyberspace. Would surely bring forum cyberspace that little bit closer to heaven! <laugh>
