Bloody boring this is, a long day ahead so how do I fill it. Got to go round the shop for some bread. Stick some washing in. Take the boy for a long walk. Maybe a light lunch. Looks like an afternoon with Jeff and soccer saturday. United v Gooners at 5.30, at last, something to watch. Roll on next weekend.
gillette soccer special stress free afternoon, then man utd-arsenal, but b4 that i garn to eat last nights chinese then off to put my coupon on
Soccer Am after brekkie, tidy garage so i can get in it once again, Man Utd V Arsenal later, walk the dog in between all this exciting stuff.
Work on the Guardian Prize Crossword with a mate of mine from Oxford. He's a Carlisle supporter so his Saturday's worth something because they're away to Peterborough. We usually finish it before noon but not today. Still got eight to do. Anybody out there into Guardian crosswords? Help out my Portuguese cleaning lady who is trying to better herself by doing a Federal Swiss certificate in nursing. She has two chidren, works as an ancilliary nurse at the hospital and does cleaning to boost her income. Will do anything to help anyone like that to get on in life. Off to the swimming pool for lunch (no way I'm getting my feet wet!) with my daughter and a Lebanese friend who's flown in from Kuweit for the weekend. Sound really exotic all this, doesn't it. BUT THEN THE AFTERNOON ROLLS AROUND AND THERE'S NO MATCH!! This is the hard part. Go shopping? Look around the bookshops? Prepare classes? Do a translation for a restaurant? God, it's going to be so boring!! Just got 23 across. Oh joy! Was our wedding anniversary (17th) on Wednesday so maybe go out for a meal tonight? Always much better when we've got a good result under our belt a few hours before but tonight I'll have to try and fill the void with thoughts of Montego Bay, Jamaica 17 years ago. But it's not the same as the feeling you have on a Saturday night when, for example, we've beaten Chelsea away 3-0 or something like that. Did we really do that? There should be a special ward somewhere for Sunderland supporters on a weekend when there's no match. Not606 does help though.
congrats on 17 years chats, go light on the drink then recreate Montego Bay when you get home, what's that, you are 17 years older, so is Mrs Chats so it wont show. Spoil you lady chats and forget football for one weekend because your lady is far more important, I know, I lost both of mine.
Its snowing again up in Scotland so I'm watching the walls again - it may get bad enough for me to start painting in the house - and thats not good !
Watching Brum v Bolton ESPN right now. (Losing money on SKP scoring !) Commentary being ruined by Pelanty Waddle! Keeping an eye on a couple of gadgets on ebay at the same time. (Typical bloke just love my shiny electronic gadgets. ) Then Man U v Arsenal.
Going shopping this afternoon for beach wear as going to The Maldives next week for 2 weeks of pure indulgence.
I'm on eBay looking for a new car. It's flooded with all the gas guzzlers; people can't give them away because of the fuel prices!! I've got BBC News 24 on in the backgound, listening to the events unfolding in Japan. Very sad and worrying, with the nuclear reactor problems over there! Looking forward to the Man U v Arsenal game later
Watched Brum v Bolton, Channel 4 racing then 1st half of manu v arsenal. Then off to the club,Grindon Broadway, for a gargle. Have to take wife out. Always a downside to the day.
Went shopping this morning, keeping an eye on the latest scores and waiting for Man Utd and Arsenal very boring.
Well, this morning it was shopping, This afternoon it ws to see the grandbairn This evening it was a bit of T.V Then on here as our lass wanted to watch Ant and his girlfriend, & I can't be bothered with the little squirts
listening to all these posts reminds me why i left, i spent the day fishing in just shorts and got a couple of nice snapper, but on the down side ive got to watch safc on tv, so i guess its swings and roundabouts
Saturdays, even if they are match days, are always crap for me. Yes I take your point commachio about the fishing in shorts, pretty much the same as New Zealand there is so much to do and indeed so much I do do. However the one thing that I just cannot seem to get away from is that Saturday morning match day feeling. The killing time before kickoff and the rituals involved around going to the game, everyone seems to have their own. So I get up around 6 which is 22 ý hours to kick off for me, might do some fishing or shooting or go to the beach and chill. Perhaps a barbecue or a meal out, all the while counting the hours down to kickoff. The big question……. get pissed or stay sober. You get pissed you might not get up in time for kick off you stay sober and the night drags…. Everything else about life here is great; it’s just those long long Saturdays
