jesus, can't even beat millwalls reserve team. We had a decent tie against bolton if we won then we are in the quarters. gutted
FFS it was 2 moments of quality that won Millwall the match. We were unlucky and can concentrate on the league now.
or lack of basic concentration. Haven't won in 5 games now, this it's only going to get tougher the longer the season goes on. If we don't win against burnley we are out of automatic spot (probs). This is going beyod a 'slight blip'.
even if that happens, what do you suggest... sack Adkins? Get a grip. We have had a dream start and if it picks up again then brilliant, if not then it's still better than my August expectations. support the boys don't berate them
It's just the disappointment showing. I'm not going to condemn those that are cheesed off, though I would suggest they get some perspective. but the recent spell of bad form may not be bad form after all. Saints may just have been found out, after all, we are a recent League One side, albeit almost certainly the best one. We are in 2nd place, with no longer any distraction. This is where the season is about to start.
One thing: how often do you see a manager, after scoring a goal to take a late lead, throw on a third out-and-out striker? Does say a bit about where our team focus lies at the moment that Nigel's first reaction wasn't "huzzah! Let's salt this one away!", it was "hmm, seems a good time to give Lee (not that one, or that one, the other one) a bit of a run out". Let's wait until after the Burnley match before declaring the season over, shall we?
Just what did it do for Portsmouth, forget it, the Premier and Match of the Day on a Sat night will be far far more enjoyable, COYR !!!!
I think a lot of these people can't have been season ticket holders when we were in the championship last time playing the kids and struggling week in week out. I could never EVER call our current team shocking when compared to that. I know it is just peoples knee jerk reactions, but that doesn't change the fact that they are wrong and need to keep the faith. If we get hammered on Saturday then I will concede that they may have a point. The fact is that we are doing so much better than anyone expected, and that for people to be crying "shocking" and "sh1t" etc. is completely over the top.
