Whatever money Graham Carr is on, double it!!

There must by now surely be envious eyes looking at the gems that Carr and his scouting network keep unearthing. I hope the club are doing everything in their power to ensure that he is being handsomely rewarded for the sterling work he is doing, while saving NUFC a fortune in transfer fees, in the process.

I believe that keeping Carr on board is even more important than keeping Colo etc. My greatest nightmare is that Citeh or Chelski would come along and dangle megabucks in front of him, like the latter did, a few years ago, when they enticed Frank Arnesen away from Tottenham Hotspur.

to be honest there are alot of people equal to carr in scouting ability its just he gets the backing to scout anywhere in europe and in depth, so he has more of a chance to find the gems, but even so, damn good job.

Tiote
Cabaye
Santon
Cisse

TBF though every decent football fan would of knew about Cabaye, Santon and Cissé. I mean one won the French double and was the main midfielder in that team, one was once the most promising defender to come out of Italy since Maldini and at one point was dubbed the 'New Maldini' and another was the second best scorer in the Bundesliga in a terrible team and only behind Mario Gomez. They weren't unknowns its just Carr does a lot of research and has recommended them directly to the board. I'm not undermining Carr's job, Tiote was find of the season last season and a steal at 3.5m, we also have him to thank for Abeid, Marveaux etc.

Cisse has played one game for us, granted he played well but its too early too judge him. 10m.

But he wasn't getting much game time i think, was often finding himself on the bench.

This. Plus Carr had been tracking Tiote ever since he'd seen him play for Anderlecht in one of those friendly tournaments that Arsenal host. As for Cabaye, well known but it was Carr's hard work that helped reveal he had a cheap release clause.

On another note, I think I may have seen GC at the Peterbrough Burnley game on Saturday. If we sign Paul Taylor at some point in the future, my hunch will be correct (Taylor was the best player on the pitch, put Rodriguez to shame)

If Tiote, Cabaye, Santon were so obviously great, to "every decent football fan", how come none of the "big" clubs came in for them?

Methinks some of you are damning The Lord Carr with faint praise.
