Thing is, everyone wants Harry... Who is going through some (legal) issues himself right now and wouldn't be too eager to jump ship at Spurs whilst there is a serious chance of winning something. It smacks of a **** situation all round and quite honestly Capello should be given the elbow but we haven't got an instant replacement, you could just see the headlines. New England Manager found Guilty of Fraud etc. etc. Our media would be all over that and Harry would be the fans favorite, national hero to a villain in the media and people calling for his head. Unless anyone can think of anyone who could do a temporary job.....

I think Beckham will be at the Olympics so i'd rather he went there. What about Shearer and Sheringham.
Think a national side should only be made up of people either born in a country or whose parents are from that country. Just becuase their are no obvious candidates doesnt mean the rules should be bent. Didnt have a decent keeper for about 10 years but we had to put up with some English twat to play there and the manager should be no different. National teams are just that ffs.
Cappelo should have kept his trap shut yes, and might find himself in hot water. However I do not know what the big deal is about captaining a side in football, it is insignificant. Guru hope you are joking, Beckham has no experience of managing a football team, and do not think he is smart enough for a managerial role. Shearer had a brief time in management at Newcastle, allthough they were in dire straits allready, to me he did not shape up at all.
What we need is somebody to look up to, Beckham has his faults yes, but i believe the thing that he would have is the support and the faith of the team. The players have the talent, but sometimes not the desire. That is something that he could bring!
No chance of a change in management before the Euros, will have to put up with this dross for a little longer. I'd love to see him sacked and replaced by just about anyone. Hell, pick a captain and let him pick a team and just let the players sort it out on their own, it couldn't go any worse! I'll do it for £200 a week! I'm sure I'm a better motivator than Crapello!

I don't know what the hell Capello is saying that for. But for me the biggest problem is, why is the trial not already been had and done, then everyone could've just moved on, its ridiculous that its taken this long. If Terry is found innocent then that goes against innocent until proven guilty but then if he is guilty which I think he is, this would cause big disquiet in the England ranks and Terry should also be dropped from the england team and given a big suspension and fine. Its just a farce that this isn't being sorted out until July, which is 8 months after the incident!! I would like Rednapp to take over but I have it on good authority that he will never be England manager, along with Venables who will never be allowed to take up a full time managerial role in england again. As for Shearer, no thanks, not a very good manager and don't even like his punditary, for me he's similar(although not nearly as bad) as Keane, player with a big ego not really suited to management. I agree with you tractorbhoy, its a national competition so national team managers should only be allowed to manage the country of their nationality. I think it would be poor timing to sack Capello now. So we are stuck with him but it appears that we can right off another international competition as once again there's so many off the field problems. And JWM if only Lambert wasn't scottish (I am actually being serious, although perhaps in a few years time) and if only O'Neill wasn't Irish!!
