A lot of people say that about the City Stand, only problem is where would people access it because the actual road itself would take up a whole stand and I can't see it being accessed from Koblenz Avenue either.

I seem to recall that after the fire which demolished the original city stand, Chase <yikes> for once in his life used the insurance money fairly wisely to ensure the structure was in place to add another tier to the stand.

God forbid, sink or swim this season we need a greater capacity sooner rather than later <ok>

Agree with that point CC. Even when our games are on Sky, we still fill the stadium - unlike some other clubs we could mention!!!! Imagine the noise if we'd 30,000 Canaries fans cheering our boys on. I'm sure DM and the board will make the judgement when the time is right!!!!

I see the Man U tickets sold out the same morning that they went on sale and Chelski tickets were on eBay for £100 a pair!!!!

The stand could be done where the stand is pronged up via a structure from the current stand so it wouldnt interfere with the current road system out side the ground. The other idea would be a monaco style tunnel where the stand is built with the road going under it, seems a bit weird but it does seem possible to have it like that!

As for the jarrold, im sure when it was built it was designed to have a 2nd tier added!?

Response to th O P....You get ahead of yourselves...... the Swans v Canaries will be an excellent game. Jacks to win 3-1 you cocky git.... you have been warned.

The answer is.... no FA cup, but you will survive. It will be a tight finish to see who out of the promoted sides finishes highest though, but our goal difference may help at present.........long way to go though!

OP is a bit of a nob, most Canaries respect the Swans, and know it will be tough.

Both teams have impressed, and will be safe. <ok>

I would rather stay in the prem but im confident we will do that any way! Didnt last year the teams go down with 35 points?
The only down side imo with having a 35k seater ground is where the heck are the other 10k people gonna park? I think car parking is a bit of an issue I only live 30 mins from norwich and i have to leave a couple of hours early to get a place! I remember Doncaster game last year yas a tuesday night, every car park i new off was full! Had to park at anglia square!! It would be great, 30 odd thousand people sing on the ball city!!

premiership survival has to be priority above all else and the same applies next season too. the money involved in the premier league is so massive that it is paramount to the future of the club. the fa cup would be great but it will be of no use to the club in a years time if we are sitting mid table in the championship. we've waited 110 years for an fa cup - i'm sure we can all wait a little longer!

as for swansea and rodgers, fair play to them. lambert probably should have won the award but its yet another sign of the 'leeds effect' coming into play.

Don't know about the Leeds effect, but I'm hoping for the equally famous Manager of the Month Award effect -- should guarantee us 3 points on Saturday <cheers>

Both. Luckily we got knocked out of the Carling early enough when we needed to concentrate on the League. While it would be foolish to assume we are defintely safe already, I believe the confidence the club, staff, players and supporters are exuding at the moment means a cup run won't bother us too much, and if we continue to get home draws, the income is useful. Apart from injuries of course, but thats a risk in any game as Saturday proved.

Park and ride and public transport, not like the ground isn't near to a good rail connection which whilst not ideal for everyone it wouldn't be hard to go to a near station then train in the last bit so you could park up out of town then train in, the fare would likely be the same price or cheaper than the parking fee anyway <laugh>

Plus you've got park and rides all round the city, which could possibly be prepared to make slight detours on match days.

Spixworth would be good for anyone arriving from Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Gorleston etc ( Hi GG,<ok>) and Harford for those from Diss - or if things get any worse down the A140, 1p5wich <yikes>

They were either lying or didn't know what they were talking about as the Jarrold was built so it could accommodate a second tier if it was needed without too much trouble.

As for Cup or League, I'd love to see us win the FA Cup but I'd much rather make sure we're firmly established in the league first.

I'd go as far as to say that even getting to the cup final would be a bad thing as we'd probably end up in Europe. Our squad isn't really big enough to cope with the extra games the Europa would provide and unlike Man Utd, Chelsea etc who have a full 25 man squad and then numerous under 21's who are capable of playing week in week out in the Prem (Sturridge, Jones, Oxlade-Chamberlain etc) our under 21 players aren't good enough that they can really contribute to the squad at the moment.

A lot of teams who get in through being losing finalists or the fair play see their league form suffer.

After receiving the MOM award we've already beat WBA so hopefully that ones put to bed :D
As for the game on Sat, should be a cracker! I see a high scoring 3-2 win (hopefully) to the swans!

......... i was living abroad when the jarrold was built and i had the old pink'un posted to me each week. i am sure i remember that it was designed so that an extra tier could be added at a later date. not sure that this is so with the city strand, think it has to be demolished and new stand built to increase capacity.

yep. we can add another tier on top of the jarrold stand, absolutely no problem there. city stand is a problem though. there were initial plans to extend on top of the current city stand but i believe (and i don't know for sure) that this is not now possible due to redevelopments of the road infrastructure, ie. koblenz avenue. therefore, the city stand will be rebuilt at a time when the club is financially secure and we are an established premier league club - i think this was stated as 'following three successive seasons of top flight football'. i think they are planning on adding some kind of mini-stand in the hotel corner during the summer to add a few more hundred seats <ok>
