Bin liners are to Arsenal what spinach is to Popeye, clearly.

Realistically, Arsenal are going to lose 2 or 3 games between now and the end of the season.

Which mean Spurs have to lose 7.

    Can't say I'm afraid.

Well done for beating what was in front of you. But, as I'm sure the more sensible Gooners will realise, duffing up Blackbum is no indicator of a new dawn!

One for the Photoshop thread: A matador waving a black bin liner at a bull. Hey, worked at the Emirates...

John Terry is "injured" for tomorrow's game. Either the FA removed the England captain's armband from him a bit too literally and dislocated his shoulder, or he's pre-empting what will happen after Rio Ferdinand catches him in the tunnel after the match, an event there will be no witnesses and a curious lack of CCTV footage of...

Bad day for us, hope tomorrow is better and Utd win at Chelsea.

Arsenal's win today could be worth four points to them, as it's taken GD to a level, where if they caught us on points they'd almost certainly overtake us on GD.

The visits to Anfield, Emirates and SB are going to be crucial. I doubt we can afford to lose them all and get 3rd, and 4th would also be in serious doubt.

I remember the Mexico friendly before the 2010 World Cup, the mexican defender made contact with Adam Johnson and he stayed on his feet. The commentator went on about how he should have gone down and got the penalty, blaming his inexperience as to why he didn't dive.

Guarantee the same commentator would say how shameful of him it was that he dived, really pees me off about some commentators/pundits.

Diving is bad...unless it benefits England, then it's fine.

We have a game in hand and a superior goal difference of plus 7 .... how do you justify "they'd almost certainly overtake us on GD"?

If they win all their remaining games 7-1 it would certainly happen.

So, Ghods, care to give us a reason for your comment, or shall I just spam the unholy **** out of this thread (and any related to it) by calling it ludicrous at ever opportunity, despite the fact nobody cares one way or the other? Do you like it when the boot's on the other foot? No? Tough.

Because for them to catch up, they'd have win three games and us lose four if my maths is correct. (Naturally draws can enter the calculation, but let's keep it simple)

Generally speaking three wins will give you at least a +4 GD, while 4 defeats usually gives you a -5 GD at least.

Therefore for them to catch 9 points on us is liable to see them overtake us on GD as well. Before this rout, our GD was looking better than theirs in the event of a draw on points. Hence this win could well be worth four points, and my guess is it would be if we drew on points, as I think this will give them the edge on GD. Even if all wins and defeats were by one one goal margins, highly unlikely as that is, then Arsenal would edge ahead on equal GD, but more goals scored than us.

Naturally, we might reply with a 5 or 6 goal GD win of our own to redress the balance in our favour, but it's unlikely I feel.

Equally, of course Arsenal may come up with another demolition job, again unlikely, but probably more possible for them because in Van Persie they have the best striker in the country, and he is considerably better than any we have. They have already scored more than us, despite having less points. Were they to equal our points, chances are they would have scored quite a few more goals than us by then.

    goons; played 24 - goals for 46 - goals against 34 = + 12
    Spurs; played 23 - goals for 44 - goals against 25 = + 19

goons; goals scored per game - 1.91
Spurs; goals scored per game - 1.91

goons; goals conceded per game - 1.41
Spurs; goals conceded per game - 1.08

Goons; average goal difference per game - 1.50
Spurs; average goal difference per game - 1.82

    1.82 > 1.50

Yup - I'm really worried about the goons bettering our goal difference <doh>
