Another excellent performance by Rosicky, and once again, for me personally, he shows why it should be him ahead of Ramsey as our middle play maker. Rosicky is far more creative and talented than Ramsey when it comes to the role of attacking creative midfielder, on top of that he also brings needed experience and maturity, not to mention that he also makes good tackles when needed. With Rosicky in the middle we just seem more fluid and more creative in the middle of the park, for me there is no reason why Ramsey should be ahead of him. At this point I really don't see what Ramsey brings to the squad, he really brings nothing in attack, barely creates anything, and his defensive work isn't all great neither which isn't even his main duty for the side, so I really don't know what he brings to the table, he's one of those players you see in a team where your left scratching your head wondering what his exact role really is as he offers nothing in both attack and defence, and all he seems to offer his giving cheap balls away.
Yup Jury's out, most would prefer Rosicky ahead of Ramsey, rest Ramsey for the entire season, :-D, he doesn't deserve to be in the starting 11, even when he was and is fresh he doesn't do anything for the team. He is the weak link in the midfield, and the weak link in the team in general, he has sadly become our new Denilson.
Very harsh on a young man who gives 100% every game. For me this is a training ground decision for each game.
In all fairness, I would say that Ramsey on the whole, considering his injury has had a decent season but he seems to have faded over the last couple of months whereas Rosicky has been solid every time he has been called upon and actually improved from game to game. He definitely retains the ball much better than Ramsey (despite what Toledo says) and should be first choice unless Ramsey blows everyone's socks off in training.
Rosicky all the way at the moment. He has that eye for a pass. Ramsey is a capable replacement, but needs a few weeks without the pressure to refind his form.
It's weird, i'd normally pick Ramsey, but Rosicky has been playing strangely well. He's been **** for 2 years, why the sudden turnaround in form?
Ramsey definitely gives the ball away more than Rosicky. Ramsey is always trying to do Cruyff turns or fancy backheels in the middle of the pitch instead of playing it simple. I think he sometimes feels under pressure to be the creative spark which makes him do wild things. Having said that, I do rate him but I think he's been given too much responsibility and he isn't ready to play the role that Wenger wants him to. Not on a consistent basis anyway.
No one gives Ramsey the responsibility, he taken it upon himself trying to be the chief playmaker. the OX does it sometimes but he is much quicker than Ramsey and more skillful. Ramsy is good but only if he plays it simple he can be more effective. Of what I've seen of Arteta today, if he keep playing this way we will again be a force to reckon with. Arteta has the skill and i belive you should keep more posession of the ball and attcking moves. He is far better than Song in that respect. Today was the best I've seen Song passes the ball, hope it's a sign of things to come because he's a woeful passer of the ball.
Arteta's game has changed, he's more of a deep lying playmaker now, than an out and out CAM. I say we alternate between Rosicky and Ramsey for the remainder of this season, and make a big signing in the offseason.
The most frustrating thing about Ramsey, his biggest fault is that he does not see the right pass when attacking. When a quick bip-bop-pop passing move is needed to turn defence into attack he holds things up, going sideways or nowehere. Maybe he is trying to hard, but I have been mystified as to why he is an automatic choice over Rosicky. Same with Walcott vs Arshavin, I reckon AA given the same run in the team as TW would outshone him. Theo is an awful player.
My point was given the same number of consecutive appearances and amount of game time I reckon you'd get far more out of Arshavin than Walcott. Nani is way better than both though.
Don't buy the Ramsey is **** nonsense. There's no way he'd even be close to the first team if he was. He's been throw in at the deep end, covering for the absence of Wilshere and Fabregas and he's had to adapt to playing with new players in Arteta, Gervinho and Oxo. It's a tough role with a lot of expectations, both creatively and defensively and players in his role generally tend to be the cornerstone of most teams. Ramsey doesn't get it all right, but that shouldn't blind people to his work rate, his possession, passing, tackling and ability to press opposition midfielders into mistakes. Yes some passes go astray, but given the amount of play he is involved in, coupled with the complex nature of midfield decision making (one for the coaches here) there are always going to be some play that doesn't come off. It's clear that he's needed a rest, he's been carrying the weight of responsibility and the engine of the midfield since the start of the season. His form has suffered a bit - but I don't give any credence to that when it's used as a device to berate him. Wenger has spoken about the need to strike the 'right balance' with Oxo, in order not to pile the pressure and physical demands on him too. Ramsey has got a long career ahead of him at Arsenal, he's a solid player and his development and future in our midfield is an asset in my opinion.
He has succumbed to pressure, for club and country. Needs a rest - now getting it. I still hope he will return without trying to be MOTM.
