I dare any Arsenal fan to defend Wenger now.

Whatever, I only came here to stick up for jayram because you people didnt understand how a sample is reflective of a population. As I said the problem critically wasnt the size of the sample but the fact that only those who wanted to have their say did have their say. Thus it lost its reliability.

I will leave you to fight amongst yourselves again now.

It isn't as simple as that.

What formula was used to determine the sample size?
What was the confidence interval?
What is the population of fans?
What is the deviation?

I very much doubt that any reliable statistical method has been used for this poll to determine whether it is a fair and accurate reflection of the views of the population.

In fact it could be argued that if I did a poll here (which has been done), then it would be just as accurate.

Polls are only accurate for those who the poll reflects their views.
Look at political opinion polls. When a poll shows a party leading they say it shows the view of the population. When a party is behind in a poll they say the only poll that counts is the one at the ballot box.

<laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

Half Full .. thats so gay !! I don't think I even want to know how you know that song ... but it made me laugh out loud !!!

No in fact they dont. All parties say that the only poll that matters is at the ballott box or that "polls come and go". That is a political decision. Because you dont want to say "Yea the polls are fcking awful, we are shafted" because your voters wont show up. If you are up then you dont want to say "Yea we are crushing the polls. This is easy and we are going to dck them in the election" - because its cocky and its seen as disrepectful to the electorate and can cause a backlash. Again your voters might not show up if they think its already in the bag.

So your analogy is bad imo.

Right! there's only one way to settle this......

When a party is ahead in the opinion polls they always say it shows public opinion is on their side. They aways have done
