Drawing with rivals is not the best result (obviously) but does stop them closing in on us or jumping over us, so more important is that we don't lose. After this month things get a bit easier and I think we have the squad to gain promotion.

What is an easier game these days? I thought Bristol City and Doncaster were easy games, and couldn't have been more wrong. Makes it a nightmare to get an idea of where we might go - much more familiar Saints fan territory!

Its obviously a tough one but trying to put a positive spin on it i thought we were good the other night against an in form Cardiff we have players back in the fold from injury and suspension and also Sharp , Lee and the impressive Puncheon. I think we should be approaching the game with some hope by and large our best perfomences have been against the better sides and we have been less impressive against sides where we go into the game as favourites to win.Birmingham have been good of late and Houghton has done a great job but they have played a lot of games already with there Euro games and cup matches and i fully expect a loss of form at some point on their part i may be wrong but i think this is a game we can win

Jesus its only Birmingham, Yes they are on a good run, and they are at home. But so were we not so long ago. Anyone can beat anyone in this league. Some of you sound scared to be playing Birmingham!

Some of us are genuinely scared. I would have been scared of us with the form we were in. And you don't go unbeaten at home more than half a season for no good reason. <doh>

What I'm saying is so were we. And then we lost to Brizzle, drew with Blackpool, lost to Leicester all in the space of a month. We can beat them, yes they are good and have to decent players who cause any team problems, but so have we.

Were not second in the league for no good reason <doh>

From our last 9 games (9pts) I'm struggling to remember how we got there. And in further fairness to Birmingham, had they not had Europa they would probably be above us.

We started dropping points cause we started to get found out. Who's to say Birmingham won't?

Getting found out was only part of the reason we started dropping points. Far more important were the injuries to key players, starting with Chaplow at Bristol City, and including our leading and second highest striker and both first choice centre backs. Now they are all fit again, and we have 3 exciting new players to bolster the squad. I'd be scared of us if I was a Birmingham fan.

I'm glad someone's optimistic :)

I don't think we'll win either, but I'll be delighted if we do. Birmingham just look unbeatable at present.

This must be about the toughest game of the season with Birmingham looking so strong, and it's on Sky, but we'll surely put up a better performance that the last televised game. I'd also be happy with a draw, just to hold Birmingham back, and show we can play well away from home. It's getting so close at the top now and hard to see which of the top 7 or 8 teams are going to be the main threat to our promotion. I had us dropping down to 6th on the predictor during this difficult period before going back up, but who would have predicted Tuesdays set of results?

Anyone know where the predictor thing is on the new bbc site - i keep looking but cant see it...thanks!
