But the point is, we have more than you. Ergo, we are better than you.<ok>

Ah! But as in most things, context and terms of reference are kings.

Good evening sa1nts. Hope you're well and enjoying your football. <ok>

Would you consider it correct to say that on a head to head basis for the season that CCFC have come out on top , whilst on a positional basis, the Saints are ahead at the moment? It sounds like a fair assesment to me.

Anyway, it's good to see both clubs doing so well.

Enjoy the rest of your season fella.

Two good sides but you missed a chance to take all 3 points as we have been on a bad run due to injuries .
I think the second half showed with people coming back we are starting to look good again. Also with a couple of good signings I hope but without being arrogant believe a top two place is in our reach. I personally would like to see both clubs go up. Cardiff have been knocking on the door to long.

    Thanks SP. <ok>
I wasn't at the game last night so you'll have a better idea of events than me. However, a Bluebird friend who usually is able to give me an unbiased report of games suggested that the game was, to use the old cliche, a tale of two halfs. He reckoned that we had a chance or two in the first half, the Saints could have won it at the death.

Like yourself, I have a feeling (and I hope) that our respective clubs may make the top two - though, and agreeing once again with you, it's not a good time to get arrogant with so long to go. I'm not sure West Ham will stay the distance for the autos and thay seem more intent on making marquee signings rather than developing stability. And on that subject, we speak from experience! Of coursed, just an opinion with no real science behind it.

Whatever happens now, congratulations on an impressive return to the Championship, and good luck for the remainder of the season. Hope the next time we meet it's in the promised land. <ok>

Watcha aber. <ok> Keeping well I hope.

You sound a little disillusioned with the beautiful game! But it's difficult not to agree with you when the game is changing so dramatically. However, I think it would be good to test ourselves in the Premier "also ran" league. Perhaps even progress to find a place in Europe and bring back some old memories for us older gits!

I suppose at the end of the day, footie is different things to different people.

    Keep safe dude. <ok>

All this arguments about who was better who's going to choke and all that.

    Facts
4 points from six in our favour!!
We are still on a decent run and made it to another final!!
You haven’t won at home in 3?

Sounds to me like you’re choking not us.
Oh and by the way like its been said already if we do end up choking that’s cause we are in a position too. If you don’t its cause you had already fallen into mid table oblivion.

I was at the game - got to laugh. I think the falling over has been sussed after your early season wins at home (I remember seeing the Brighton highlights and being amazed that you had nobody booked for falling continually, therefore you just kept on doing it). Don't know about the second half one, but Lambert's ridiculous trick to get a penalty in the first half was rightly ignored by the ref (and the linesman who was closer to the incident). Penalty - when will people acknowledge that it has to be deliberate. If you make no movement but simply suffer from the disability that your arms are connected to your shoulders and they exist in time and space should that be a penalty? The rules seem to have changed over the last few years, and the sofa tv pundits don't help. A draw was a fair result - we had numerous chances (even in the last twenty minutes) but failed to make the goalkeeper work with any of them - very poor finishing. Some pressure from Saints in the last twenty minutes, but balanced out by our first half dominance. As for time wasting - you clearly didn't see Saints tactics at City Stadium earlier this season. Compared to that, we raced through the game. It was funny on that occasion, how much more quickly your goalie wanted to kick the ball out when you were 2-1 down - laughable, really, people actually did!

They were 2-0 down. Grabbed a consolation near the end.

I think both teams will be in the play offs.

We are more likely to be top 2 though.

Id be more than happy to play Southampton in a play off final.

Think Leicester , Birmingham and Boro are better sides.

Leicester are a bit like us last year, good individuals, but not playing as a team. Boro seem to have fallen apart after beating us. Brum though, they are starting to hit their straps!

After the turmoil of the summer, the palyoffs would be an acheivement. I think MM and the board have set their sights higher though.

    Happy days!

An away draw against a top two team is a point gained, no question.

Mason is first choice to replace Miller if he misses a game imo. Played the lone front man role well and is better pushed right up front than in the hole or out wide.
I also think MM is going to loan a striker if at all possible. What I do think is refreshing is that he hasn't just accepted whatever players are available, Malky's chosen to trust the ones he's got rather than signing someone for the sake of it.
Last year we left better players on the bench just because DJ wanted to get his new signing on the pitch.
