I know this has nothing to do with Cardiff but I'm fuming at the fact John Terry won't go on trial for racially abusing Anton Ferdinand till after the Euros... Preferential treat it sounds to me...what's your thoughts?!? Just cause he's English if it was any other non English player they been prosecuted now!!!
why dont they deal with it now like the suarez case? if he has this case dragging on for another 6 months who does it help?
it helps the FA and their Euro cause Swamp...simples!...If I try it, d'you think I'll get to go on holiday first?
seriously, its in the players interest to deal with the matter here and now. for suarez, even though he was found guilty, the fact that he can serve his punishment and get on with his football is a big plus for him and his club, for terry this will now be at the back of his mind for 6 months, i'd hate to be in his position
Indeed look at the Liverpool fan arrested n bailed...but John Terry a different story!!! The FA should be disgusted and so should the corrupt justice system?!? Maybe footballers should murder someone they still delay it for the English players to represent there country!!!
Wasn't Suarez punished under the FA brolly? Terry is being prosecuted by the CPS. The maximum fine is £2500 and no ban. Can he be tried by both? It appears not as the FA have said they will not suspend him.
Well to me that's pittance!! Cause serve me right how much did Suarez get fined it was certainly a lot more then that... I believe it was £40,000 still a drop in the ocean but still a lot more then JT faces!!!
I'm not sure Taff surprisingly the English FA seem to be keeping tight lipped about this situation but he should be stripped of captaincy and removed from any future England team forever what image the English FA after? cause there certainly going the wrong way about it Just like them appealing against Wayne Rooneys ban!!! There just digging a deeper whole for themselves!
Ltb87, here's a conspiracy theory. I'm bored with nothing better to do at the moment. Picture the scenario just after the abuse claim is announced. JT is advised (too thick to think for himself) if a member of the public reports you to the police the FA won't charge you as it's a civil offence. Thereby no big fine and no ban. If charged by the CPS he gets a decent brief he will get off and will retain his captaincy. A Chelsea & England fan overhears this and does his duty in reporting JT to the police.
Brilliant post on Twitter. @MarioBaloteLAD John Terry won't be facing trial for Racial Abuse until after Euro2012. So he's free to lead his country into Poland. Just like his hero did
Afraid you're right on this Aber. A lot of sound bytes but no real action, I would not be surprised if my scenario above isn't too far from reality. All FAs will protect what they see as their crown jewels, some more than others. The technology is out there but everyone is reluctant to use it. The way of the world, the rich get richer on the back of the working man. not any time soon methinks.
Other side of the argument. Terry is facing a criminal charge. So why wasnt Suarez. The England captain charged. Suarez just dealt with by the FA and will carry on as normal after his ban. Or am I missing something here. I cant see the difference.
If thats why hes been charged by the police and Suarez hasnt then our justice system once again gets shown up. Cant believe the conspiracy theory. Interesting though Taff. Ive a feeling the English FA wouldnt lose any sleep over losing Terry anyway. Hes hardly a world beater.
Apparently It has to be reported to the police before they can do anything. Once a member of the public reports it they have to investigate it. If they then believe they have all the facts and evidence they submit it to the CPS. The CPS will then judge if they have enough evidence to get a conviction, then decide if it's in the public interest to proceed with a case. It appears a member of the public did not report Suarez to the police whereas a member of the public reported Terry. Just a conspiracy theory nothing more. I agree in my book Terry is a waste of rations and not worth the effort.
So a member of public has got to report it before the police can investigate... So for example (this is being extreme) We all taken a disliking to Balotelli over recent months, So if say another footballer ie Scott Parker retaliates for what Bal did to him n say punch him one so hard he dies...the police can't do anything cause no ones reported it bloody hell!! Talk about a license to kill... There you go Scott beat that Italian w***** up n I'm sure the uk nation won't report you n you've got away with it I know it's extreme but a crime is a crime n can't be a rule for one n a rule for another!
Not extreme at all, it could happen. I guess a view is taken on its merit. Essentially serious crime is dealt with by the police, minor crime based on merit and evidence available. Remember, to a degree football is self governing. The FA may well have an agreement with the authorities to a certain level of self policing unless a member of the public reports the offence and then they will step in. Possibly similar to HM Forces being responsible for their own discipline if two squaddies were caught fighting in a public place the police usually hand them over for the military to dispense punishment (usually more severe). However, if one died it then becomes a civilian police matter. Another scenario, bear in mind the football pitch is the players place of work. Doris the tea lady has an argument with Lakshmi an office worker and uses a racist comment. This incident can be dealt with internally by the HR department or the police can be called. It is up to the individual in consultation the HR department as to what action is deemed appropriate. If all involved agree to deal with it internally then so be it. However, if another party witnessed the incident and reported it to the police then they are duty bound to investigate.
He has not been found guilty of anything yet. There seems to be a presumption of guilt. However, the matter should be sorted out now one way or the other. You need a victim to have a crime. The police can't investigate something without a complaint. If the complaint is from a 3rd party, the 3rd party must be offended. Of course, if the person who was alleged to have been abused states he was not there is not much for the 3rd party to hang their hat on.
i think its disgraceful that people come up with trash like this: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...a-must-stop-terry-going-to-euros-6298132.html he hasnt been found guilty, what if he is stopped going to the euros then found to be innocent?
