Can`t work it out, normally in a crunch away game like this we would snatch the point, but hey, we could have won,
What a difficult side we have become to beat!
    :emoticon-0103-cool:

Come to think of it I haven`t seen a snatch for some time!

A point gained. There's a bit of a log jam building up behind us though!

First half over 60% Cardiff City, 2nd half over 60% Southampton.

As the away team I would say One Point Gained

And think if things go with us on Saturday we could be top.

Agree with remote. A good point gained away against a good Saints side. Keeps us in the mix especially with WHU getting spanked @ Ipswich.

hardly anything between 4th to 9th/10th so another huge game v Blackpool on Sat. Will be keeping an eye on Saints @ Brum too. <ok>

Yup - defo a point gained. Brum and Boro worry me though. We're away to them both a week or so apart in the spring - they could be the deciding games if anything.

Still fancy Boro although they've had a blip recently - Brum have still got theirs to come. Despite last night, WHU will expect one of the auto spots, but I've got a feeling they could buckle a bit under pressure and blow it in the playoffs. The rest don't figure for the auto spots - and yes, that includes Soton.

I said at the start of the season it was us and Boro for auto with Holloway's boys taking the third spot through the playoffs - I'll stick with that for now.

Second half we battered you a hell of a lot more than you battered us in the first. From what I can remember you had the header in teh first couple of mins, a shot from 30 yards which kelv saved, a shot spooned over from 18 yards and a goal that was never a goal. We should have scored in the first half as well with a Lambert header, but probably would have been unfair on you as i'd say you shaded the half due to the amount of possession you had. You just did nothing with it.

3 nailed on penalties of which only one was given, as a saints fan, defo 2 points lost. The last 20 mins we were camped in your half pretty much, just couldn't break through and ayour keeper made a fantasti save from Lallana.

One thing I wasn't impressed with was your timewasting from the start, pathetic.

OK Joey B - but you didn't win did you, and we thumped you at the CCS back in September - remember? As regards to time wasting- welcome to the real world mate. <ok>

Cliche time, there's a long way to go until the end of the season. Many twists and turns to come. WHU should book an auto spot with us, Boro, Blackpool in the mix for the other spot. Don't want Birmingham anywhere near the play offs as I may have to concede Hughton may be a decent manager :(

we werent complaining when palace parked the bus and we dominated from start to finish, hitting the post about 5 times, if a team defends then you've got to break them down, time wasting? if you were 1-0 ahead at the CCS (which you werent) and started time wasting then you would call it being professional and seeing the game out <ok>

tut tut little saint, bitter much?

"a goal that was never a goal"... umm, I think you'll find it was, ask the ref :D
"We should have scored in the first half "... but you didn't, did you?
"you shaded the half due to the amount of possession you had. You just did nothing with it"... umm, 1-0 half time?
"The last 20 mins we were camped in your half pretty much"... yet still couldn't score?

For all your possession second half the only way you could score was through a penalty. Seeing how we were "battered", what does that say about you?
As for time wasting, I notice you didn't mention your time wasting v Leicester...by that I mean turning up on the night.

You've got a good team there and some decent fans to be fair... try joining them.

I've been talking about Brum for months, they're a quality side and will be very dangerous. I would not be suprised to see them take an auto spot.
WHU are interesting because on paper the deadline day business looks to have really sorted their squad but the current first team seemed a bit distracted by it all last night....Wonder if Fat Sam might have too many players and squad unity could be an issue.
Boro will finish in the playoffs imo, Saints position will depend on Lambert and Sharpe becoming a pair or working in a 3. They need to keep Lalana fit.
There haven't been many this season that put us under sustained pressure the way Saints did 2nd half (without forcing many saves from Marsh). For that reason it was a point gained imo.

The one eyed saint has ignored the fact Miller had 2 chances one of which was at 1-0, as for the time wasting does he get to see many games?!?! Part of modern football and EVERYONE DOES IT! You shout about it in the ground whilst you know deep down your side would be doing exactly the same thing if roles were reversed.
