We probably need to submit a bid and have it accepted before their game kicks off.

Not sure I can see him playing for Leeds and then coming down to sign for us.

Leicester City have today (Tuesday) completed the signing of forward Ben Marshall from Stoke City for an undisclosed fee.

The 20-year-old winger has agreed a contract with the Foxes until June 2015 and, following the arrival of defender Wes Morgan, becomes City's second new signing in as many days.

Foxes manager Nigel Pearson said: "Ben is a talented player and we are delighted he has joined the Club.

"I have spoken recently about the need to address the balance of the squad and Ben will help us to do that.

"He is happy playing on either the left or right flank, has settled in straight away and gives us more attacking options.

"Ben comes to us with a good footballing pedigree, having worked within the Manchester United and Crewe Alexandra youth set-ups and has shown the desire to move his career forward by joining us from a Premier League club. We are all looking forward to seeing him in action."

Born in Salford, Marshall was with Manchester United as a schoolboy before continuing his development under Dario Gradi at the Crewe Alexandra academy. He joined Stoke as a 17-year-old in July 2009

Marshall's two-and-a-half-year spell at the Britannia Stadium included loan spells with Northampton Town, Cheltenham Town, Carlisle United and Sheffield Wednesday.

He won a host of admirers during his time with Carlisle and picked up a Johnstone's Paint Trophy winners' medal in April 2011, despite sustaining an injury in the Wembley final against a Brentford side that included on-loan City striker Jeff Schlupp.

Marshall spent the first half of the current season on loan with League 1 side Sheffield Wednesday, aiding the Owls' promotion bid with five goals in 22 appearances before returning to Stoke earlier this month.

He becomes City's fourth new signing of the January transfer window, following the permanent captures of Morgan and midfielder Danny Drinkwater and the loan signing of Aston Villa's Nathan Delfouneso.

He will wear the No. 22 shirt for the Foxes this season.

STOKE CITY winger Ben Marshall has completed his deadline day transfer to npower Championship club Leicester City for an undisclosed fee.

Marshall finalised the move to the King Power Stadium after Leicester met Stoke's valuation of a player who would have been out of contract next summer.

The 20-year-old had attracted a considerable amount of interest from Championship clubs following a successful five-month loan spell with Sheffield Wednesday and he has now been handed the opportunity to step up a level with Leicester.

In confirming the deal, City's Chief Executive Tony Scholes said: "Our preference would have been for Ben to extend his contract with the Club.

"But with him unwilling to sign that new agreement, we've obtained a deal which reflects his potential value in the transfer market."

Marshall joined City from Crewe Alexandra in the summer of 2009 in a double transfer that saw midfielder Matthew Lund also sign for the Club.

He never made a first team appearance during his time at the Britannia Stadium, but gained valuable League experience in loan spells with Northampton Town, Cheltenham Town, Carlisle United and more recently Sheffield Wednesday.
