Trolling through the archives is absolutely HILARIOUS! I have just found an absolute Hum-Dinger here lads!

The really funny ones are around the time we were promoted from the championship, the binners and co really did not see what was coming at that time and some of the stements are hilarious!

Now, dredging up the past is somewhat unfair, I reckon there is an absolute TON of stupid **** i've said on forums over the years but you can't beat this for hindsiight, crikey!

When Jarrold canary stepped up to defend Norwich as they sat just slightly higher than Ipswich in the table he pointed to a number of points he believed we were better than Ipswich at

better team
better manager
better ground
better city (oh sorry you are not big enough to be a city and no catherdral)"

The response, possibly changed footballing history...

better team - we'll see at the end of the season
better manager - no chance. Keano was a World Class player and he's starting to prove he's a World Class manager too.
better ground - that's why when Chelsea played some minnow in the Champions League a few weeks ago the commentator likened their tiny dump of a ground to Carrow Road!
better city (oh sorry you are not big enough to be a city and no catherdral) - who cares if we have a cathedral? We have trophies in our cabinet!

<ok> Cheers mate I've just found one of my best (if I say so myself !), It was probably 'that moment' when I really believed we were going to get promoted. I believe there was even a link to this article on the BBC NCFC homepage. (Head swells with pride <laugh>)

Excellent stuff remember a lot of the predictions some people on this site made back then? <laugh> Some people are going to look like mugs unless they retract certain statements they've made in the past, but they were mugs anyway in the first place.

I don't know if anyone remembers Paul Ost? He was an overweight campaigner for the community stadium in Colchester

I stumbled across him by chance and made the connection to Paulos name (Paul O)

The thing caught like wildfire and any wum post he made He got shot down as Paul Ost lol.

Remember when we had 'Batman' running all over other teams boards posting garbage and posing as a City fan? He admitted to being a Col U supporter, so I said next time they had a home game on the telly, I'd look out for him. I asked 'are you the one in the hat, or the one sitting down?'... the mods didn't think it was funny.

Always had a sneaky feeling that might have been Paolo.

Yeah I remember him, lots of bullshittery and sock-accounts from the ColU fans. Not a tactic we've ever really deployed. We're just that little bit classier I guess

Even Monarch who, to be fair did try to be sensible at times, has gone for a long siesta by his pool. Going back to the original point of this thread it has to said that despite its faults the old 606 did have a far wider audience. Our Board is quite well supported but the Boards for a lot of clubs are ghost towns. You mention Col U but look at most of the boards of lower league clubs including the Championship. I have a family connection with Coventry and often used to go on there with 606 as it was well used but look at it now. 12 yards and snakepit are virtually dead so where has everyone gone?
 
Just had a quick check - no posts on the boards of 42 league clubs in the last week including a couple of Premiership clubs. Where has everybody gone?

This is so funny I think I will add it as my footnote so we can all have a laugh at it regularly!
