How many of the original posters are here with different names?, we have the obvious Dave ,Superman, Beefy Carra, Kickitoff and RBF but who made the switch over with a new name like Canaries soccer? New posters are obviously greeted with open arms but i have noticed an increase since we became good...... I suspect we may have a few glory hunters amongst us .....
 
Does that matter? I joined Snakepit after 606. It was a good site but the interest waned and I only go on now to continue with the prediction league for the rest of the season.
I didn't really want to come on here as I feel there is a great deal of silly my cocks bigger than yours attitude as happened with the thread started by Dave about Bates. He asked a simple question and now its full of stupid tit for tat.
However this is overall the best site for me, as a born in Norwich but lived elsewhere since 1974, as a fervent follower of Norwich City. I live in Cornwall which is now full of Man City supporters all of a sudden (they were Chelsea two years ago) so my chances of discussing the merits of City are pretty remote.
I have to have my daily fix of City no matter how controversial and am quite prepared to put up with "you don't know what you're alking about" just to feel a part of the club.
You will be able to judge how genuine any new posters are by their attitude.

Well said redruth, you have highlighted quite a number of things in your post that get right under my skin as well, hence I stepped down from Moderating for a while so I could re-charge my batteries.

I would love to see Not606 become a discussion forum as opposed to the mud slinging, bun fight fiasco it frequently turns out to be but that is how it is unfortunately. Why so many football supporters still have the attitude to other teams supporters that they had as a teenager I will never know.

Unfortunately hiding behind a keyboard seems to be the in thing nowadays. I can't help thinking that some people wouldn't have the balls to say some of the things they do on here, to someone face to face, or if they did have the balls to, they may well not have them for much longer after they had said it <yikes>

It seems to me that the youth of today have no idea what discussion or banter is, or even the art of proper conversation. Or is it just me being a grumpy old git?

Aha, didn't realise that was you behind the name Maestro fella, thought you might have dropped off the radar, good to know you're still around with us!

I was of course Tony_Munky_Canary on the old 606 and like Redruth I joined up to the Snakepit after it's sad demise and took my time finding my way over here. Went incognito as Sid Smooth for a couple of months before dropping my cloak a few months ago to reveal myself as the old Doc loving TMC <ok>

I wonder what happened to Weaver, Jimbob and Essex-Canary-King? Sadly missed those guys <cry>

It's not just 'the youth' though. Most wums I have come across on here are 25 or over, some even in their 40's! So, no you are not just an old grumpy git at all. Football forums for some bizarre reason always bring out an unhealthy rivalry that you just do not get on other forums.
 
I was on 606 since the beginning but didn't usually post. If anyone can remember the famous "who is the best Championship striker Andy Johnson or Dean Ashton?" post, then that was me.

Other than that I watched over you all like quasi modo in the bell tower. Too afraid of rejection to post.

Used to love Weaver's battle cries. Didn't ECK start some quizzes that used to be good fun on here?
 
I was on very occasionally as fastkart2, didn't often post but used it (as I do now tbh) to catch up on news and views of my beloved City! Have supported Norwich since the 60's though when I was a kid living in Caister. Dont get to see many live matches these days though, living down in Dorset it's a bit of a dessert for premiership teams!

I used to be on there (can't remember my screen name), but left around the relegation to league one. To be fair to them, it wasn't a great time (understatement of the year!), but evey single thread was endlessly negative. I remember there was one guy who just berated Delia constantly on every thread. In the end it was just a stream of abuse, no reasoning with him.
Anyway, it was then I jumped ship to old 606 and met an altogether higher quality of people ;)
Started as 'Barclayinexile', thought it too long, so shortened to just exile.
To be honest, I don't really like it anymore, but thought if I change it, no one will know who I am!

As for the possible glory hunters, it's an inevitable consequence of the club doing well that we're going to pick up new supporters. If they want to join in here, the more the merrier<ok>


Edit: Just remembered my official site name, dj_norw... perhaps exile isn't so bad <laugh>
 
Joined original 606 after the colwho match. Wanted to see people's opinions and I wasn't disappointed.

We have a good unit here guys and I suspect very few, if any, glory hunters. I tried the pinkun forums and the group on there are horrendous. Backstabbing, bitching, irrelevant trolling and overall negativity in the face of awesome success.

Keep it not606 guys!

Munky, I can´t believe that Weaver isn´t on here somewhere, wouldn´t put it past him to be posting incognito. I miss him too, and the other ´oldies´, but it´s still good to get new input from all the new posters on here, and fortunately we never seem to be short of a subject for discussion. <ok>
