Recently Arsenal's board announced that the club had made a loss (I think it was £2.5m) for the last half financial year. This was put down to less money coming in through player sales and having no more land to sell following the demolition of Highbury.

Does this mean that to remain financially stable Arsenal will need to continue to sell players? Surely this will be detrimental to the performance of the team?

It's fairly common knowledge that most clubs make more money in the second half of the season - PL TV rights are usually paid in installments, but the CL money is based on how far you get and the TV audience you bring, so that doesn't get paid to the end when the 'pot' is divided up. And like Aberdeengooner said there's the finishing place bonus money.

Also, there are generally more games in the second half of the "financial season" (1st Jan to 30th June) than in the first half (1st July to 31st Dec) so gate receipts higher. That's probably why Arsenal made a small loss and Utd made a small profit in the first half of the season - with the higher ticket prices at the Emirates, Arsenal make more matchday revenue than we do.

I think their prices are pretty much twice as expensive across the board. Our prices go from £27-£49 a match, whilst theirs go from £48-£94. All the London clubs are pricey, but Arsenal are the most expensive.

Its a ****ing disgrace sharging fans that much. How on earth do they expect to get the new generation of fans through the turnstiles at prices like those?

I think our prices are out of order but arsenals are a disgrace. There fans should expect quad squads and such if they are having to take a mortage out just to see their team play every week.

I think the Emirates is paid off now that they've sold the last of the Highbury Square apartments. What's dragging them down at the moment is the cost of the Queensland road development, which I think is not meeting expectations due to the ****e property market and the fact that Islington forced them to scale it down. But with ticket prices like those you'd expect them to be in great financial shape. Hell, if we set our prices that high them by 2014 we'd have enough cash to buy LFC and then liquidate it just for the funnies...

Sadly thats the way it has gone for most top clubs. Barcelona and Real Madrid have it the worst, there are so many tourists on match-days it is unbelievable. They all go there waiting to be entertained, so hardly any chanting just polite applause when they do something well. I really hope we don't go that way.

Same with us in certain sections of the ground I am afraid, I sit in the stretty but for our home game against wigan I was in the europa suite which meant I was in the south stand and I swear to god you could have heard a pin drop that day in that stand. 1 person tried to get chants going, 1 PERSON, he was the only one making any sort of noise part from 3 kids sat behind me who were playing on their seats, I genuinley wanted to punch them. I felt sorry for the guy, I wanted to join in but he did look like a tit after a while, and people began staring at him I think, and I did not want that, but imagine that in a football ground, ridiculous.

But then again at your clubs prices I am not suprised people want to be entertained, I feel the same in some respects for how much I pay, but to pay double that just beggars belief.

The top clubs in England won't go like that because the top clubs don't dominate as much, therefore having better compertition and then fans actually may support someone other than the top 4.

Ticket prices for the lower tier for the majority of matches at the Emirates are £34 and £37.The cheapest priced tickets on the upper tier are £40.For the league match in December and for this Saturday's game the highest priced tickets for Arsenal fans are £51 at Old Trafford

As was quoted in the story, Arsenal have released a tranche of land round the new ground for sale, and, also in the same story, there is more land still to sell for future development.

And you have to be a member to get priority for tickets, but it only costs £20 so if you're going to go to more than a few matches a season it's worth while. Still around twice as cheap based on the matches between the clubs - when we go to the Emirates the most expensive ticket will be £96 plus booking fee.

Man Utd fans will only pay £49 for a ticket.My recollection is the Queensland Road devolepment was always for affordable housing but being there was a lot involved in the planning permission for the Emirates I couldn't be 100% certain.Category "A" prices are only for five league games but cup matches can fall into that category.The majority of our supporters club tickets are usually £34 in the East Stand lower.If you're not an Arsenal member you have very little chance of a ticket
