What were your aspirations at the start of the season? Are we doing better or worse?

Chances are we are doing better than most of us expected.

Ok, so we lost an fa cup tie which we should have won. You can argue that a weakened Newcastle team should still beat a mid-table championship team, but the reality is we had out five best players out, all in key positions and we had no luck.

Yes Best and Strolla were sh@t. But we will hopefully have better options from now on.

I still believe we will finish top seven with our best team out.

At the end of the day we all claim to support the Toon, so let's SUPPORT them.

Big shame and big opportunity missed but to be honest I wasn't aware anyone was going overboard. (didn't see after game reaction on here) Not great but its gone now and we have plenty to look forward to.

Im upbeat big time. Just wanna see us improve which involves getting rid of Strolla, Xisco, Perch and Ranger.
Just my opinion like.

Ba and Cissé coming back will boost the lads for Blackburn and Villa <ok>

Minimum 4 points are crucial as I can't see us getting anything at Spurs in a couple of weeks.

In the league we are doing better than I expected (although not by that much as I thought 8th was a possibility) and yesterday we played quite well and certainly dominated. Just lacked that killer blow to knock them out. Shola was not great and his lethargy meant making him captain was laughable. He won headers but nobody was there to follow them up. If Ba had been playing we would have walked it (we would have taken Fulham apart too probably). Anyway, move on. I am not that unhappy about the cup exit. It is important we move on with the league and finish as high as possible.

Well If Liverpool win the Carling Cup, then them getting to the final of the FA Cup against Spurs Arsenal or Chelsea, means that 6th would be good for Europe (7th if Liverpool get 6th). The Yew-rope dream is still alive

Minimum of 6 points from 6 is crucial! Two very winnable games and if we get anything less than 6 points I'll be very angry. We've had two unacceptable results and that has to be addressed and put right now. I don't care if our 'best' players were missing, conceding 5 against Fulham and getting beat o Brighton is still disgraceful.

Same....But I was hoping for one of two alternatives to happen:
1- We to get a cup run by playing our starters....
2- Blood our youngsters a bit by playing them in the cup, while focussing on 4th

In the end....We played our starters only to not go through....

we did the exact same thing last season with Stevenedge didn't we? Despite them all playing a few days before
