good stop that rumour mill.

    ......................................

you lot on the racism stuff are weakassed... if wigan can boo suarez on your behafl and evra just got the same that say oh torres would get etc.. lets just say at least some guys can see what suarez gets at old trafford will be what he gets and not whine about it

    .....................................

    finally REAL talk

Journalists in the Anfield press room also wanted to know if Dalglish felt he deserved credit for introducing match-winner Kuyt during the second period.

"None whatsoever," he said. "If I'd have started him we could have been finished in the first half!

"For Dirk it's a fantastic day and it's a great day for us to go through to the next round of the FA Cup. To beat Manchester United is a great achievement for everybody."

kenny can admit he got with wrong with maxi and carragher. we were lucky not to lose due to kenny's picks cos they'd no legs at all but thats whats good about kenny. if you are that honest you'll keep working up.

That was actually Smalling's fault - if he hadn't dropped back Kuyt would've been offside from Carroll's flick on.

No I disagree it wasn't the right time in a game to be stepping up playing for risky offsides. I watched the whole thing unravel because Evra fell asleep when really he had plenty of time (relatively speaking) to react to what was around him.

Anyway as for the match... not the greatest game I've ever witnessed, often these games are cagey if neither team particullary decides to go hell for leather. Scholes ran the show for large portions and Utd fans must be hoping they get a while longer out of him yet. Liverpool definately missed Bellamys urgency and harrying and with Stevie G not hitting top form I felt we struggled at times to retain enough quality posession especially for the first hour. Passionate support from both sets of fans coupled with the usual amount of bad taste (and I have to laugh at the whinging section of Manks on here...Oh they booed Evra because he's black <wah> Evra wasn't booed because he's black you tools he was booed because he's a snitching little runt and frankly a horrible human being...did Wellbeck get booed?? No more than anyone else).

Second half Liverpool definately started to get more joy although I still felt Utd were playing the better until Kenny changed things around. Adding Adam into the mix definately sured up the midfield for us and Kuyts willing running started to get us some joy and stretch the Utd back four more. Scholes going off further increased our midfields influence over the game and despite being slightly surprised I think taking Gerrard off was a good move with the introduction of Bellers just unsettling and stretching the back four further.

Overall I don't think either side would have said a draw would've been an unfair result...but if you can't defend simple long balls like that then you don't really deserve to win **** all <laugh>

Get in there Dirky boy <ok>

basic defending cost us today, we played quite well but did not really threaten second half, we still look very suspect defensively though de gea spreads panic and fear amongst our own defenders, i thought when bellamy came on he was the scousers most dangerous player he is very underated.

I can't believe that no-one has pointed out that both Carroll and Kuyt were miles offside in the build up to Kuyts goal!!

I can't believe you pretend to be a football fan when you do even know the rules.

Given that Wednesday Night had taken a lot out of the squad, I believe that both Kenny and Steve Clarke need to be congratulated on both their team selection and the timing and nature of their substitutions. Playing Carra as a holding player in front of the back 4 certainly helped us to close down space which negated Utd's control of the midfield. Until Enrique's mistake the vast majority of Utd's forward efforts ran into a brick wall. The downside was that we found it hard to support our attackers. Added to that Gerrard clearly showed that the City game had taken a lot out of him and his passing was well off key.

When the substitutions came they were positive and game changing. This too was a battle that KK/SC won as Ferguson was then forced to mirror our changes rather than set a fresh set of problems for us. Strategically the gameplan worked almost perfectly. Sure it led to some frustrating football but it did maximise our opportutnity with the resources at hand.

    <doh>

Ok, I hold my hand up. Just found this.

    "You can't be offside if:

    • You receive the ball directly from a goal kick, a throw-in or a corner"

I honestly had no idea that goal kick was on that list. That being the case it was shocking defending from United's whole back line, not just Evra.

As Terrifictraore pointed out, I didn't know the rules rather than being blind as some of you suggested.
