Nigel is always say how hard working Cortese and the team are.

Cortese is always working hard behind the senses but we have only signed 1 player. I would much prefer it if he would tell us of deals that may have fallen through, in stead of not even telling us. This might then mean that we understand how much money we have and also what type of players we are targeting. We never even find out if we have made bids for players. even if Nigel said we have made a bid for a player but doesn't tell us who the player is, this can't hurt the deal that much. The only one we found out about was the Hooper one because lennon released it.

I'm not saying they are wrong just a bit frustrating for us fans who fund the players and the club. We would like to know what is going on in the back ground.

What do you guys think?

Don't suppose that Cortese feels that fans need to know what money is available, especially if other teams then raise the price of their players. We may want to know everything, but there is no reason for the club to tell us. Saints is a private company, so doesn't even have shareholders to inform.

Yeah i can understand that, but i would like them to come out and say that we have put bids in for players, instead of nigel going 'we are working very hard'

We haven't said anything of transfers since the Liebherr takeover and I can't see that changing.

That's because we don't want to inflate prices ;)

if we bid 10 million for a player and then it's made public news, and then we bid an amount for another player at another club... it's then obvious to the other club that we have a lot of money to spend and then they'll just slap a stupid price tag on them.

it's better to do things undisclosed, behind the scenes... it's crap for us mind you, but I'm glad that we're living within our means (even with the Liebherr billions), and not spending 16 million... which isn't always (ala leicester) the answer.

we have a good team of players, a good squad mentality... and second in the league. And everyones on the bus (or the boat?!), 'so they say'.

Hooiveld, Falque, Lee, Puncheon. For me, it's been a good transfer window thus far and with more transfers still pending it promises to be an exciting last few days.

P.S. Can you please start worrying AFTER the transfer window has closed?...

Agreed. We have NO "right" to know what's going on behind the scenes. Cortese runs the club as a tight, lean business and you wouldn't expect business plans to be public knowledge before they become viable. And as the delightfully-named LFCH says, stop worrying, we'll be fine!

How many more times does it have to be said?

We didn't bid £5m+ plus because we don't have the money or lack ambition. We, like many other clubs, talk to several players about signings, most of which won't come off.

We sign the right players to fit into the squad we have.

Unfortunately, a section of our fanbase are incredibly impatient people and expect us to be signing people left, right and centre at ridiculously inflated prices.

WE DON'T SIGN PLAYERS FOR THE SAKE OF IT. We're not Leicester, basically.

You quite clearly have no idea how business deals/negotiation works. It is a very complex process, often involving more than one club entity. Why on earth should the club let us know who they have put bids in for?

You are a mere stakeholder as are all of us, the commercially sensitive stuff is not going to be released to us.

Also I suggest you watch 'Moneyball'. Although it's Baseball, player movements are very similar and it gives an example as to how it works.

Cortese is always one of the first and last to leave St Mary's every working day. I'm sure he gives his all for the club but I just wish everything wasn't so private ! I understand some things have to be kept under wraps but some of the stuff we could have more knowledge about :)

Don't confuse them with big words
