i'm going to this one, pre match pints at the market porter pub in london bridge for fellow london based saints!!
Follow Jonny's advice above and have a drink at London Bridge. DO NOT attempt to find a pub in South Bermondsey to drink in. And unless you are going up on a supporters coach probably best not to wear club colours either. They are like Portsea islanders, they don't like 'outsiders'. Anyway I am heading up tomorrow, you can buy a ticket on the day for £18 and I am quite excited at the thought of seeing Puncheon and Lee playing along with Lambo coming back.
According to Millwall Millwall skipper Paul Robinson will miss the game and fellow defenders Shane Lowry and Alan Dunne are still suspended while full-back Jordan Stewart remains sidelined by a groin injury so Jack Smith, Tony Craig, Scott Barron and Darren Ward continue in a makeshift back four. Midfield duo Therry Racon and Tamika Mkandawire are long-term absentees, Should mean a win for us!
The result is that he hasn't played in almost a month, though; certainly wouldn't do him any harm to get a bit of action before a crucial game.
I understand that. It's not as if he hasn't been able to train for that month is it. He should come back with more energy and fitness than before he got the red card.
Rich, don't be such a panicky poo! You can come and see us in any of our local public houses, you'll be welcomed with open arms! You can wear your funny stripy shirt wherever you so please, who are we to comment on what you can and can't wear! Cor, some people do make a big deal of some away games. We were welcomed nicely at your place i for one was spat at, hit by a flying bottle and struck by a rather large obese bald gentleman who, and here's the kicker, had a small girl who, I can only assume was his daughter holding his other hand! Friendly bunch aren't ya!
These are the stats (all good), and Milwall have a key man out. If my theory espoused elsewhere on this board is correct, we're going to lose this one. Though can't really see it - the pressure doesn't seem enough. • This is the 60th time these clubs will have gone toe-to-toe. Southampton lead by 26 wins to 16, with 17 of the previous 59 finishing level. • Saints are unbeaten in nine league and cup games against Millwall (W5, D4) since December 1989. • Southampton have won all five occasions in which they have previously been drawn against the Lions in the FA Cup, requiring replays in all but one of them. The first was in the 1900 semi-finals; the most recent in the fourth round in 2003.
Risked in what sense? So every player who is set for a starting place against Cardiff and B'ham shouldn't be "risked"?
It's a balancing act for Nigel isn't it. Nightmare scenario he starts against Millwall and tweaks a muscle when Lee isn't match fit.
Sounds like you had a good day out and got your money's worth fella. I used to live in SE7 and would get the no. 53 bus along the Old Kent Rd to go and watch the 'Wall at home sometimes sitting with the home crowd. They can tell when you are not from round those parts...
Cunning ... I've been to Millwall away before a few seasons back in a league 1 fixture. My experience is that as a travelling supporter to the Den its not actually possible to have a drink with the locals even if you wanted to. The reason being the moment you alight from the train you are sent down a path surrounded by stell fencing / caging either side which leads directly to the away end, we simply werent allowed to go anywhere else. And when the match finished we were held in the ground whilst they clear the area of your two thousand fans and then we were directed back to the train and, again, not allowed to go anywhere else. It was a bit like a day trip to a prison. I heard there was a bit of trouble at St Marys. Unfortunatley your reputation preceeds you.
although with so many coming back and needing games, a replay may benefit. Play those needing games and the kids.
sorry lAMBALLANA, WE WON AWAY AT BARNSLEY 3-1 WITH THE ABOVE MISSING PLAYERS AND AS ITS AT THE DEN THINK ITLL BE TOUGH BUT ILL GO FOR THE LIONS WIN 2-1 COYL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
