We know Jos is out and Jose may or may not be risked with Tuesday in mind. Has anyone seen any of our youngsters in defence? Are any worth a go tomorrow?

Jordan Turnbull is very promising, although I doubt he will be involved just yet and Jack Stephens can play CB (although he is preferred at RB)

Cork-Martin partnership I'm guessing, possibly with Turnbull or Stephens on the bench

What about playing Danny Fox there? Frazer should be OK at RB, so Harding at LB and Martin & Fox at CB. Not ideal but better to leave Cork in midfield I would think.

but moving Cork to CB also gives an oppurtunity for W-P and Reeves to be involved - god im glad im not the manager sometimes!

oh Jack Stephens is training with the 1st team today as well!

No to Fox. Yes he did ok against Leicester but he said in the interview afterwards that he hadn't played there since he was fifteen. He's not a centre back.

I think Jaidi will play.

Lamballana, are you well? This thread is both football and Saints related.

I think we might see a few surprises tomorrow. The really off the wall one is how about Rickie plays centre back? It's not been unknown for a striker to do so, and very effectively. More likely Cork and Martin. Martin has some brownie points to win back after an unusually bad game on Monday. Cork has some idea what he is doing. Or maybe 3 at the back with Fox? Whatever, I reckon we'll be looking forward to the 3rd round next January come 5.00!

The midfield will have to protect the central defence. That means keeping possesion and winning the 50/50 balls all over the pitch, which are things we've mostly done well this season. But there's no doubt we're gonna be held together with elastic at the back.

Would not surprise me to see Stephens start at center back for the cup game; he's played there at the youth level from time to time, and he's a fairly big kid.

Morning Channon! See I can sometimes do football related topics. Not sure it will be as popular as the bands thread though!

I suppose Lee will be a defensive weakness (if he plays). He will have to be taught his defensive responsibilities, which he may not have needed in Japan. he says on Player that his target is 1 goal a game...if he does that he will be legend.

Play anyone in the back 4 on Saturday,Cardiff is far more important and we need whatever players we have for that game! Need a new CB!

I have no worries when it comes to work rate with Lee,don't want to stereotype but most asian players have a sensational work rate and are generally very fit.
