I can't ****in believe he didn't protest! He ran straight off. Class. Oh and the Havant one, can they even get sent off for that?

I think there's something in the rules about deliberately injuring another player, official or spectator being straight red, but I can't be arsed to look it up.
 
Surely, the Dorchester sending off must come under, "bringing the game into disrepute", or something like that?

Yeah, maybe that also. The Dorchester player is also their manager - he said that he thought he was doing the ref a favour. Then the **** sent him off <laugh>

I think a lot of people are missing the point. RVP didn't get sent off for it, he got booked for kicking the ball away to waste time - rightly. If he hadn't already been on a yellow this discussion wouldn't be had.

RVP can bang on all he like about not hearing the whistle, but surely alarm bells would ring when the defenders around him stop running all of a sudden - what did they do, just give up? Pah!

Ref got it spot on for me!

Of course he did in your estimation, you're a spud. Adriano kept pace with him, he was also past the rest of the defenders.

Just because I'm a 'spud' doesn't make the observation wrong. I'll leave you to lick your wounds then maybe we can discuss this properly when you've calmed down. Must be all that BITTER lemon you had on your pancakes <ok>

It's perfectly plausible that RVP didn't hear the ref's whistle. It's also ridiculous to say that he should have noticed the defenders around him slowing up. If you're an attacker who's through on goal, your main priority is to get your shot off and worry whether it's offside later. While no one wants to see blatant time wasting, there's nothing to stop the ref adding a few seconds if he feels that that's what the player was trying to do. How would people feel if a player from their own team wrongly gave up on a goal-scoring opportunity simply because they saw some defenders slowing down in their peripheral vision?
