Wrong intent is for violent conduct as well - you have got to intend to punch, kick, elbow etc for it to be violent conduct

No you don't? Fellaini has been sent off a number of times for recklessly throwing an elbow into a header. Don't know if that's right or wrong in the eyes of the FA rules but it's certainly how it's executed.
 
Why make it hard for refs by having them make split second decisions based on guessing what the player thinks

You're arguing with three of them ;) Some blokes in Switzerland make the rules and we obediently apply them. You could say any handball is a handball, or you could say any offside is an offside, it would just make the game a bit different. It wouldn't make the arguments go away though, we would just be trying to decide if it was arm or shoulder or chest.
 
Jesus I can't see how some people believe its a penalty, the guy blocked the shot with his leg and it bounced onto his arm.
Maybe all footballers should start the game with their hands up there arse.
