Bob Murray was sure
All that glittered was sold
and he's buying the stairway to Roker

When he gets there he knows
All the kiosks are closed
But with a word he can open a new one.

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh,
And he's buying the stairway to Roker.

There's a sign on the bogs,
and he wants to be sure,
that he's not really going to Newcastle.

Of the hands that he shook,
Kevin Phillips and Niall Quinn,
Sometimes our first impressions are misgivings

Ooh, it makes me ponder

Ooh, it makes me ponder

There's a feeling I get
When I look to the west,
A new ground should be built
On the coal heap

In my thoughts I have seen
A man like Peter Reid,
and the roars of the crowd give me tingles

Ooh, it makes me squander,

Ooh, it makes me squander,

And it's whispered that soon,
we'll be above the Toon
and Reidy will lead us to 7th

And a new day will dawn
for those who stand long,
and the Stadium of Light will be finished

Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, ooh, whoa, oh

If there's a European golden shoe,
Don't be alarmed now
It's just a step along the long, long path

Yes, there are two managers you can choose from,
in the long run,
Wilkinson was not the best we'd ever had,

It really makes me wonder,

oh, oh, oh

Your club is turning bad but it won't go,
In case you don't know,
St. Niall is calling you to join him

Oh Keano, can you hear the wind blow?
And did you know,
The club will last after you have gone?

(solo)

And as we wind up in the league
Newcastle down, down playing Boro
There walks a man that we all know,
who has a broken nose and wants to show,
How everything still turns to gold,
And if you try very hard,
Good players will come to you at last,
Asamoah and Sessegnon,
We will find that final goal...

And he's selling the stairway...
To Roker.

Sorry if it's a bit ****, I was pretty much just writing down the first word that came to mind!

It's good but a little long winded.

Can't see it catching on.

Very good. One of the all time greatest songs, maybe you could speak to Robert Plant and ask him to record a new version. We could use it as our song the players walk out onto the pitch to.

Only one problem with that mate, it would be half time before the song was finished.

Reforming Led Zeppelin would certainlt be better than Take That...

Or we could ask Andy Reid to come back and perform it for us?
