Lets go through the team: Davis - Not much to do, but what he did wasn't very good. Poor distribution. - 5 Harding - From what i heard he played well at Forest but along with every other player didn't show up. - 3 Martin - Let the cross in for the second goal, let him by way to easily. - 4 Hooiveld - Not to his usual self - 5 Fox - Poor game similar to others - 5 Cork - 5 Morgan - 4 Hammond -gave the ball away all the time - 4 Falque - needs time will hopefully be better when everyone else is playing better - 5 Connolly - Poor game - 4 Guly - Needs to learn to jump and shoot. Not his best game but not his fault should not be a target man like lambert is for us, so not all his fault - 4 Adkins - Very few tactical changes. Needed to sign players before this game, yes we may have tried to sign hooper bt you can sign more than one player at a time. Should have tried something new. - 2 This game shows that we lack depth and need a couple of new players. After the Forest game we all thought that we might be out of the blip. Obviously not We lacked passion and drive a real striker. Yes connolly is a striker but no target man, which sometimes today he seemed to be. I don't think anyone had a good day even nigel. And the referee did not help the game. N***** needs to sorted out by the FA. HE needs to be banned for what he did. You can not incite the crowd. HE should have been booked earlier and then should have ben sent off. Overall, we now lost 2 games in a row at home after more than 20 games with out even a draw. (First consecutive league defeats at home since 2008) Some people will say I'm wrong but i am sure that others will think I'm right. SIGNINGS ARE A MUST. There was thread the other day saying that we don't need signings our squad is good enough. This clearly shows that we don't have the depth. Does no yellow cards also show a lack of passion? I would have quite happily gone on and decked N***** myself.
Er.... you gave Martin and Harding more than Guly and Morgan. Half the scores you gave Martin and Harding and you may be near the mark
Davis - 5 Harding - 5 Martin - 5 Hooiveld - 6 Fox - 5 Cork - 6 Morgan - 5 Hammond - 5 Falque - 4 Connolly - 4 Guly - 5 No real standard performances for me
I would of given them all a 3 at best. I think some people are missing how bad we actually were. Had Konchesky's FK gone in and Nugent and Delfounso been a bit more clinical it could of been 5 or 6
I would have given Hoover six for a couple of world class tackles that saved us further embarassment, otherwise spot on. The Kingsland lino got a couple of off side decisions wrong but I doubt if we would have capitalised if we had played on!
Hooiveld was colossal for us tonight, saved a certain goal and was the only player who looked comfortable. Thought Fox did ok, about as well as usual, Schneiderlin was never in the game. Service to the forwards was meagre, so can't really put too much blame on them.
Davis-Looked good in goal, made some good, important saves-7 Harding-Caught out of position numerous times, poor passing and tackling-3 Hooiveld-Solid at the back, made some great, important tackles and good in the air-8 Martin-Nervous and out of position several times.Poor passing-5 Fox-Average performance,a lot of hoofball from him and some poor tackling-5 Schneiderlin-Very few good passes, weak tackling-6 Hammond-Slow,boring,performance from our captain. He tried hard, but not enough,he was out of position a lot of the time, poor passes.Mistake led to 2nd goal-5 Falqué-Invisible-5 Connolly-Not his usual self(absence of Lallana, maybe?),got in to good positions but lacked cutting edge-5 Guly-Tried ever so hard once again, but his first touch is letting him down again. Was one of the best players for us in 2nd half, should of taken his chances though-5.5 Subs: Holmes-Didn't do much,he was out muscled several times and he had a shot on goal, that's it-5 De Ridder-Showed lots of skill but no crosses,no end product-5 Richardson-Looked bright when he came on,very solid and he made some good runs going forward-7
thought Jos was lmping badly when he went off, relieved to see that he went off with beckford still in his pocket.without him tonight it would have been a route- only player with heart
Kelvin Davis - 5, Wasn't comfortable in goal Dan Harding 5, His worst game for the club, and I'm a big Harding fan Aaron Martin - 5, Again, his worst game for the club but did improve in the 2nd half, Will learn from this Jos Hooiveld - 7, Collosal at the back and we missed him dearly Danny Fox - 5, Woeful crossing and a generally poor display Yago Falque - 5, Anonymous Dean Hammond - 5, Awful in the midfield, Could not get a grip Morgan Schneiderlin - 5, Couldn't got hold of the game Jack Cork - 5, Woeful down the right, Went missing too much Guly do Prado - 5, Lazy and didn't look involved David Connolly - 5, Did nothing and offered nothing Lee Holmes - 6, Looked bright but no real service Steve De Ridder - 6, Didn't get involved much Frazer Richardson - 6, Right side looked better when we came on
We lack some quality we have got no more than good average players. This showed up very clearly tonight. Why Adkins insists on playing centre midfield players on the wing when you have players fit who can play there naturally is beyond me. I think it was poor judgement to put Farque or what ever his name is, in for this game when you had Holmes on the bench. We got nothing tonight and certainly didn't deserve anything either. Some of them need shooting lessons. I was so disappointed in our display. We seem to be going backwards at the moment and Adkins appears to be struggling for an answer. In truth that is probably the first time since his arrival that I have questioned Adkins tactics. I have always given him the benefit of the doubt but his persistence of playing without recognised wingers when some are available really is beyond me. I am sure he is going to come in for some heavy criticism over his tactics in the coming weeks if there is not a dramatic improvement in the coming weeks.
Davis - 5 Several poor decisions although made a couple of brave saves. Harding - 3 very poor game Martin - 3 Constantly out of position, ridiculous 'play' for their second goal (Literally the worse defending i've seen at professional level, made boro's bates' attempt to tackle lambert for our third good. Hooiveld - 8 Won everythin in the air and made two goal saving tackles. Very assured. Fox - 6 few long balls, assured defensively. Never got good supply, balls were always played too slow. Cork - 6 couldn't get on the ball enought Hammond - 4 had nothing, didn't win the ball and kept giving it away. Worst performance in a long while from him. Schneiderlin - 7 lost the ball in a dangerous area on one occasion, generally passed the ball well, however didn't get enough of it. Falque - showed competence. looked good when he got on the ball, quick feet and neat movement. Wasn't given the service he needed. Connolly - 4 Bad performance, constantly made the wrong decisions and should have scored in the first half Guly - 6 endeavored up front, won his fair share of ball, held up play reasonably well and worked back. Fed off scraps though and wasn't given enough ball/options.
I have to agree with some of this. we must sign some quality players like hooper (i know we can't get him). 2 wins in 8 league game isn't good enough.
Davis - 5, didn't have any difficult saves to make, but his distribution was poor, however he didn't really have a target to aim for and was put under pressure by awkward back passes. Harding - 3, I'm a Harding fan but he was not great today, mostly I think because he was played out of position, showed Nugent inside for the the first goal as he was on the wrong side. Martin - 4, I'm also a Martin fan but he didn't have a good game, was made very nervous by their attack, and it's worrying to think he could be our only fit centre back. Hooiveld - 8, superb performance, some great tackles and blocks, seemed to win everything in the air. looked very stressed out when the camera showed close ups of him, seemed to be carrying a lot of the defensive responsibility, will really be missed if his injury proves serious. Fox - 5, didn't have a bad game, didn't really do a lot good or bad, he was closed down very fast so a lot of his passing tended to be long balls towards no-one, but I think this was due to Leicester's closing down rather than his poor judgement. Cork - 5, seemed to run about and care a lot more than other players, gave the ball away a few times and seems to lack any sort of confidence in front of goal - this seems like a major flaw in his play that can hopefully be improved Schniederlin - 4, not his usual self, gave the ball away a lot and lost out on a lot of 50 50s Hammond - 5, seemed to try hard, but his efforts never had any end product. Falque - 4, barely noticed him, hopefully he improves during his time with us, maybe not the best time for a debut Connolly - 3, an unexpected poor performance, very wasteful with his chances, perhaps he missed Lallana Guly - 5, I'm not a huge Guly fan, but he seemed to be trying very hard today which will hopefully dispell the myth that he is lazy, not a lot that he tried came off though Subs De Ridder - 4, was given no space by Leicester to do anything, had very little influence on the game Holmes - 4, similar to above, had one decent chance on his weak foot. Richardson - 6, good substitute performance, seems like he wasn't fit enough to start but showed how much more he offers as a right back, we missed him more than I realised.
