We have to get behind the team no matter what happens, but it's hard to see where we are going to recover from tonight's awful performance and mounting injury list. There's not even anyone capable to come off the bench apart from maybe De Ridder. We need to get some temporary cover on loan but I can't see it happening. It looks horribly like we're going into self destruct with little hope of getting back our former glory in the near future.

Meanwhile, it seems incredible that Rickie gets a red card and we have to do without him whilst we play against teams with such dirty players who seem forever to get away with it.

Time for the much heralded fitness and medical team to get Fonte, Lallana and Chaplow back playing.

It's all been said already about tonight. Could tell from the first 15 mins we were never going to get anything.

Harding at right back was one of the worst ever performances i've ever seen. But I blame Adkins for playing him there when Richardson was fit.

I also have a horrible feeling that Falque and Tanadari are Cortese signings, not Adkins.

I'd also add that if we are to bring in players, they need to be physically strong and big if possible. We were so weak all over the pitch tonight and when you look at our nippers, as talented as I'm sure they are, they are all pretty small.

The majority of Championship teams are like Leicester and you have to battle to win the right to play.

Exactly, one of those games where you could just sense it was going to be a **** performance. What did you think of Falque? And why do you think him and Taddy are Cortese signings?

To be fair though, this hasn't been a problem for Saints in many games this season, but yes tonight we did look weak, as we tried to battle with a bigger team instead of the pasing game that is normally our best weapon.

Falque showed some nice touches but it will be a while before he is on the same wavelength as the others, it was an unfortunate game to make your first appearance in, but with Lallana missing there isn't much to take his place, especially when they play that stupid diamond formation, 4 4 2 looked better for a while, but we never deserved anything, there was no passion, no enthusiasm and no leadership, things can only get better from now on, but signings are now imperative, not an option if we are to maintain progress.

Lambert back next up. If we could get Fonte back as well then I would feel a lot happier. I am normally a Harding fan but tonight he was not good, but then who was? If we could get Lallana and Chaplow back then we would not have to worry too much about the window, but there is no information. Normally I understand Nigel's desire to keep information to himself but we need our old team back, rather than necessarily a load of transfer activity.

We need a proper left winger, Lallana shouldn't be rushed back or we're going to **** him up long term, he's clearly not been the same since he came back from injury. They need to stop pissing about and get in proper cover so they can look after him a bit.

Guly blows very hot and cold, but he produces moments of magic. Connolly is a better player than a lot of people give him credit for. His vision and intelligent movement set him apart from most strikers at this level. It's a shame he is often injured as he is still a class act and otherwise very sharp. West Ham are poop and I can't see them winning the league. COYR!

Yep West Ham are poop , that why we have more points that anyone in the championship, the best gates, the best defensive record, and the best away record, not bad for a poop side..

Didn't watch much of game...see cowardice does have its own reward. Had a bad feeling, especially once I heard Lallana was out. Hope Jos isn't too bad...he tweaked that in the first minute, so we really need Fonte back.

Don't forget the most important of all... more penalties.

Oh yes i forgot about the penalty's, just goes to show you that when your team is doing well you seam to get the breaks, last season we had so many decisions go against us, it was unreal. but last season we were poop.

Congratulations. You have spent a shed load of money and a shed load on wages on players and you have now a massive squad. I have said from the start that West Ham have the best championship side EVER. You would think you could at least pull away from a side just out of league 1 and a relatively small squad. Remember a whole division separated us at this time last year and now you are only three points ahead of us. One of us has improved immensely, but only one of us.

Funny how they come out of the woodwork... <doh>

If we spent leicester and west ham kin dof money we would be top of the EPL in the ko stages of the champions league and in a miraculous twist southampton would break away from britain and be eligible to qualify for the euros which we would win. My basis for this is that we signed Lambert for 1 million and chaplow for 50k. With 15 million we would rule the world <ok>
