I was wondering when you think Cahill will start being a regular starter - I know he's new to the club and hasn't played yet but I'm interested as he's in my FF team as I think he's a very decent defender.

Or was he simply bought in for cover?

Basically I'm not sure whether to bench him this week or do you think he'll play?

    Thanks in advance.

Luiz is looking good and more disciplined at the moment, and PR Clangers to one side Terry is just Terry...

I reckon he'll get into the cup squad if there's fatigue and we do have a lot of games coming up soon...not to mention a court case...

In short...not a clue, but interesting that he didn't even make the bench at the weekend...AVB maybe showing him who the boss is after his protracted contract negotiations!

    Thanks <ok>

I also found it strange he didn't make the bench as there is no doubting he's a quality CB. But true Luiz does seem to off improved, but will it last? I'm not so sure and I believe Cahill is twice the defender Luiz will ever be (in EPL terms anyway).

I guess for my FF team I'll follow AVB and bench for a few weeks and see how things pan out. It was quite a result buying him in the first place as when I did he was a Bolton player - so now I've basically swapped a Bolton defender for a Chelsea defender without doing anything - happy days <ok>

To be honest we'd only signed him a matter of days before we played Norwich. I wasn't expecting him to start and wasn't exactly surprised not to see him on the bench.

IMO, he will be Terry's replacement and our future partnership will be Cahill and Luiz.

There was no need for him to be involved at the weekend. I think most of us accept Terry and Luiz are first choice and Ivan was there for back up. Cahill had barely trained with the team so I think it was a good move to not put him in.

Personally I wonder whether we would be best served playing him instead of Terry on Saturday (QPR). Make the game about the performance of the whole team rather than Terry's 'return'...go out there and do the business. Terry will be on a hiding to nothing if he plays and will be in for some major stick. Personally I don't want the queens park scummers to have the satisfaction.

I reckon Cahill and Luiz will start in defence for the QPR game
