"It's been quite widely reported that we'd spend £25 million over five years on the playing squad, I need to have a discussion with Ally and see if some of that needs to be front ended. It may be that we have to spend a little bit more next season if that's necessary. But I will have to speak with the future manager and make a decision on what is happening there. I want to keep as much of the existing squad together as we possibly can, that's something we will look at carefully. I want to see as much of the team stay together as possible. We've certainly got the budget there to do that." ------------------------- 25th November 2011 Rangers signed Sone Aluko until the end of the season without having to pay a penny of the agreed £150,000 compensation fee to Aberdeen. Sportsmail understands the 22-year-old Nigerian international and his family have taken the extraordinary decision to dig into their life savings to fund half of the amount - with the remainder paid by Alukoâs agents at MGP Sports. Rangersâ precarious financial position meant the deal was stalling this week as Aberdeen held firm on their desire for compensation, while the Ibrox club were unwilling to risk the vagaries of a costly tribunal settlement. Frustrated at this turn of events, the player instead took the initiative in order to kickstart his career at Rangers. ------------------------- CRAIG WHYTE insists he HAS spent big this summer â despite NO box office arrivals. The Rangers owner was last night forced to defend his signing policy in the face of mounting criticism from supporters. Whyte pledged to spend £25million on new players over the next five years. He later upped that and claimed £15m would be ploughed in this summer. But SunSport's damning figures show Gers' net spend at the close of the August transfer window was just £500,000. ------------------------- McCoist insists Gers' decision to spurn interest in Jelavic and Davis is a big signal. The Gers gaffer said: "I am delighted Nikica and Steven are staying. There was no pressure to sell either, but the club received a serious offer for Nikica from Leicester. I have no doubt the players we have here are more than capable of defending the title." ------------------------- Where did it all go wrong? <whitey>
Should've posted them then **** On a serious note though I intend to make my judgement on Whyte after the verdict on the tax case and the months that follow. PS. You owe me 20 quid, better pay up or else you'll wake up with feinians head in yer bed

We've got a fixture problem next season , Scottish cup final now moved to the Sunday afternoon , but we might have the champions league final the night before !!!
They wouldnt grant der monkeys an extension to the season (the league always finishes on a thursday), i dont see any reason for Timmy to get one.
I see the Scottish Football Association is quite sure there will be no Rangers around next spring. Otherwise they would not have fixed their main showpiece fixture for a Sunday. Its bad enough having league fixtures on the Lord's day but the Cup Final ! ! !
Medro sorry to see you are still alive and well. and free. I thought there would have been a round up of the bigots who had got banned from football forums. I suppose they can't keep a bad man down. I saw your fellow bears sneering at you recently.
