I no that it is not 100% that we wont go down, but we are now 11 points of third from bottom. I think we are safe. its a quite a big gap and i cant see us not picking up points in the next 10 games. we only have to play 5 of the games coming up against the big teams. What do you guys think?? Lets hope we dont suffer second season syndrome!!
I would like to think we will be safe, but I will only believe it when it is mathematically impossible to go down.
We can take GD into account too, which makes it look better still. But like Maestro, I've got to see mathmatical certainty.
I would say probably safe and agree we are going to pick up more points, possibly some of them at away games. We have Bolton, Wolves, Everton, Wigan & Villa to come to Carrow Road and I would like to think we can win 2, 3 or more of those games
OK so we're not mathematically safe yet, but we are an awful long way from relegated by Christmas (Hampy)
We are not safe yet. I will agree we have a very good chance but lose 6 on the bounce and we are around a point a game territory. Wigan look sunk but most of the others show some spirit. Still, I also thought we would miss out on automatic last season. So with that in mind and Lambert in charge, we are safe.
"But we're not safe because Blackpool were in a similar position last year and we all know what happened to them!"
Ok there is matematical safety. When do you all think we will reach that point? My guess Everton April 7,
I tend to be cautious, but I wonder how many like me are now looking at Stoke and Newcastle, even Liverpool, and wondering if we can overtake them. I reckon we'll be there at the Everton game too, and after the game yesterday I don't have the same fears about our run in as I did before. Good times!
You guys aren't 100% safe probably need about another 5 or 6 points to have enough points to stay up. Though I have to say I am impressed with the way Norwich and Swansea have adapted and improved as the season has progressed. Also would say you guys have outplayed us more than anyone this season, with the exception of the 2nd half of the game yesterday.
Norwich and Newcastle, plus possibly Swansea are the teams that have performed best in relation to expectations.I see we are now quoted at 18/1 against for relegation.
although clearly we are not yet safe, we have given ourselves an outstanding chance of doing so, because even with an almighty collapse we'd still have a chance of scraping together another few points to scramble clear! what will be of interest to me is if/when we do get to that magical 40 point mark, i very much doubt lambert will settle for that - he'll still demand the results and for that reason i really can't see us collapsing at any point in the remainder of the season. i think we will probably get stronger
For sure, we are not yet safe by any means but as we have played most of the top teams away and we still have several winnable home games left we are in with a great chance of staying up. I reckon another three wins should do it and I would estimate that we are capable of achieving at least 45 points which should be more than enough
Second season syndrome? FFS get a grip, i am loving every second of this season in the top flight ,we could still go down but i have been very confident since day one that we will survive...... I am happy to enjoy each and every game until the season ends then take stock....... As long as Lambert is driving the canary-express we are only going to get better.....
I had every confidence that we would stay up. Never in my wildest dreams did i think we would be sitting in top half after 2o odd games!! every thing lambert touches seems to turn to gold!!! All i mean with second season syndrome is that next year Lambert will truely truely show us how good he is, not only will we have to stay up we will also be needing to improve on this year! Can see the headlines already! Bottom of League1 to europa league in 4 years!
This is my 41st season supporting City and I can honestly say no other has been as enjoyable.Apart from 2004/5 we have not been there since the mid 90's and football was a world apart in those days from the mega money involved today.I personally think that what Lambert has achieved is truly remarkable in such circumstances.
We should build a 50ft high statue of PL from gold with our Sky money..... It will probably be worth double in 3 years.....
