Watching the video just shows how many great technical players we have had at the club. The number of times Marsden and Le Tissier crop up in the build up is amazing.

That one against Derby in the play-offs could probably never be repeated even if he tried!

Thanks for finding it, Joey B. Loved Pahars...had to retire far too soon. Also the song at the end 'Coming Around Again' could be our theme tune. Hope the score against Leicester is 4.0 to Saints as in the video.

Didn't the little fella cry when he left Saints? He was great. I was in Riga in Lativia and the guy who worked behind the bar was chuffed that I knew of him etc, and he was clearly held in high esteem in Lativia in general. Damn his injury problems!!

I'll probably get flamed for this, but I never really connected with the Little Latvian love affair. Yes, I was very much doing others things during his time at Saints, and rarely got to see anything of them, until they'd moved to St Marys, but I always checked the scores and the tables, wherever I was. I could always see how good Marian was, and loved his goals, but I didn't get into the cuddly hero worship. Certainly not in the same way as say, Matty, and I missed a significant amount of his career, by living overseas.

I know one thing. Living as far away as I did, and only having the odd weekend where it was possible, I could never get a bloody ticket because of the appallingly small capacity at The Dell by then, so that cheesed me off no end. Perhaps that was part of it..? ;)
