Alright, now I'm no English. I don't eat crumpets or play the ukelele. I don't have a Union Jack emblazoned across my forehead, or several trays of tea ladled on my mantelpiece. I'm not quite Moldovan, not quite Lithuanian - au contraire, I am indeed a bit of column A and a bit of column B - Irish.

But I'm bored, and I was just wondering what a quality England squad would look like.

Well to start off, here's my starting line up.

GK: Joe Hart (Man City)
RB: Micah Richards (Man City)
CB: John Terry (Chelsea)
CB: Phil Jones (Man United)
LB: Ashley Cole (Chelsea)
CDM: Scott Parker (Tottenham)
CM: Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)
CM: James Milner (Man City)
RW: Nathan Dyer (Swansea)
ST: Wayne Rooney (Man United)
LW: Daniel Sturridge (Chelsea)

The rest...

GK: Ben Foster (West Brom)
GK: Scott Carson (Bursaspor)
RB: Kyle Walker (Tottenham)
CB: Gary Cahill (Chelsea)
CB: Chris Smalling (Man United)
LB: Leighton Baines (Everton)
CM: Frank Lampard (Chelsea)
CM: Jack Wilshere (Arsenal)
RW: Theo Walcott (Arsenal)
LW: Ashley Young (Man United)
ST: Darren Bent (Aston Villa)
ST: Danny Welbeck (Man United)

What do you think?

What do you think?

Good shout on Dyer, he's been exceptional this season. I agree with most of your starting 11. I'd drop the CB's though. I'd have Jagielka and Lescott instead.

My starting 11 would be:

- - - - - - - - - - - - Hart - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Richards - - - Taylor - - - - Lescott - - - - - - - Cole

- - - - - - - Parker - - - - - Wilshere - - - - - - - -

Sturridge - - - - - - Rooney - - - - - - - - - - - Young

- - - - - - - - - - - - Graham - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Been really impressed by Danny Graham - looks a top player

My squad:

Joe Hart
David Stockdale
Rob Green

Kyle Walker
Micah Richards
John Terry
Chris Smalling
Joleon Lescott
Phil Jagielka
Ashley Cole

Theo Walcott
Adam Johnson
Aaron Lennon
James Milner
Scott Parker
Steven Gerrard
Jack Wilshere
Danny Guthrie
Ashley Young

Wayne Rooney
Gabriel Agbonlahor
Daniel Sturridge
Danny Welbeck

I have probably forgotten someone but ah well. Rodwell, Baines, King and Dawson all close. Would have King but for his knee.

Forgot about Graham, been class but still not sure that he'd get in. Taylor is good enough but won't make it as injury will rule him out.

------------------Hart

Richards--Jones----Lescott-----Cole

----------------Parker

---------Gerrard---Wilshere

Jonhson------Sturridge----Rooney (free role)

Milner, Young and Agbonlahor are capable subs.

Rooney cannot play up front on his own. Sturridge wants to play as a central striker. Give them what they want I say, and we'll have a very dangerous team!

If we play Jones in the Euro's we have absoultely no chance imo. He is going to be a star, but I don't think he's ready yet.

He's had a bad 2012 so far, but he's far too good not to improve before the end of the season/ the Euros. He was fantastic until about December!

I agree that if he does keep up the bad form, Jagielka should be brought in.

Hart
Richards Jagielka Lescott Baines
Gerrard Parker Wilshere
Sturridge Rooney Milner

Off the top of my head, might have forgotten someone obvious. Maybe Young LW. Terry and Ferdinand both look like they're on the way down, particularly Ferdinand.

Harper
Forster
Alnwick
Simpson
Perch
Williamson
S.Taylor
Tavernier
R.Taylor
Gosling
Smith
Ameobi
Sammy Ameobi
and some other players

well someone was going to do it

If Jones begins to show that he can perform again as he did earlier in the season then I would probably take him. At the moment though, his confidence looks absolutely shot and if he doesn't pick up soon then I think both Fergie and Fabio have a problem, considering how much he has been hyped up to star for both club and country.

Lescott? Are you on pills? He's ****. ;)

He's still only 19, he won't peak for about 8-10 years, so he's got plenty of time!

I won't lie when I say I had this same opinion at the start of the season, but he has actually improved loads this season, and recently has looked just as assured as Kompany (no mean feat). I think he's a lot like Richards, he has improved his own game by playing in a world class club team.

If he plays, I'd prefer him in midfield with Parker. Not sure Wilshere will be fit like
