Word of warning the European Championship on in Poland/Ukraine next summer so prices will go up in that part of Europe plus hostels, trains etc will be busy and probably more expensive than normal unless you are going when it's over

Agree with all the above and out of everywhere for value for money I'd recomment Prague, and Krakow - amazing place! Also, notice Spidermag said above about Auschwitz - whilst absolutely shocking, i think everyone should visit there at least once, and even more so Birkenau (the big camp you'll know from the films where trains pulled in under a tower). They are only a short coach trip from Krakow. Aside from that I love Italy (Venice and Milan are both in the North so not far to travel, and worth visiting) but it is expensive so you may want to stay avoid. Enjoy planning it!

I went a couple summers ago - was awesome. Started in Amsterdam then went to Germany, Czech Rep, Poland, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, France. Think I'm forgetting somewhere, can't think off the top of my head.

Budapest is class, as is Poland. It's a bit morbid but going to Krakow and Auschwitz is definitely worth a visit. Croatia is decent - quite up and coming like, especially in summer. There's a place called Bled in slovenia which is pretty nice too. Best staying in Eastern Europe to save your pennies, but all in all was a class fair few weeks. Def worth it! You'll have fun whatever you do.

My mate was over there last year (can't remeber the resort he stayed in). The place he went to is now in the club 18-30 brochure new for this summer season, must be jumping to make that!!

Love Switzerland got family over there but it's expensive and very clean. Only country where the Hell's Angels put rubbish in the bins.

Bumping this to see if anyone has any more advice or recommendations! I think we're (roughly) planning it all in a week or two so it'd be good to say where I've heard is worth going :) It's been very helpful so far <ok>

Me and a few mates are meant to be doing this as well but going to Barcelona, Madrid, Milan, possibly Turin, Florence, and then finishing in Disney cos we're sad bastards. Any advice on these places would be helpful as well!

As has been commented... Shopping in paris to start? Big mistake (unless the idea is to say to the girls you can't shop as you will have to carry it!)

Plan a rough route, with the odd fixed stopover ( every week or so) but don't be so rigid in your planning, you won't know what you like until you get there

Mate, dont plan anything <ok> Take it by chance. Its the best way!

Yeah but like we need to know where we go roughly.. some people want to go to Turkey, some to Latvia and some to Portugal <laugh>

Ohh, you said a few pages back you had some info on places in Germany that you could PM? If you could that would be great, thanks!

Yeah, that mistake was well noted and it will hopefully be at the latter end of the trip. I might avoid Paris completly and leave them to it because it will be so expensive and I've seen it before so it just seems pointless..

I can't say I've ever really been to the more affordable Eastern Europe destinations, but I've done one trip from Vienna through Austria, Germany, Switzerland to Paris, one through Spain, and a field trip through western Germany. And I know out of everywhere I've been in Europe or North America, Vienna is my favourite city! (I know a few people have listed it as destinations they've went to) But I definitely recommend it to anyone I know going in that direction.
