Aside from the fact the QPR win was probably our second worst (after Wigan) then not bad.

I hate the ignorance of the English "experts" though. Another example is when Shearer said Cabaye was a total unknown, at the time he was a full international and had just won the double in France. One of the sky sports nonces also said the other week that Santon was another we had "discovered". Full Italy international, signed from Inter. <doh>

I have an app on my iphone called paul the octopus or something like that. Anyway I had two options, Fulham and Newcastle and he picked Newcastle. Means nothing but you never know.

Look at lawrenson's predictions for all of this season so far. If correct we would have only 16 points and be joint second bottom (he had us down for just three wins and 9 draws. every result we either match or more often better).

Couldnt be bothered to do it for liverpoll but i bet his predictions would have them in the top 6.

It's so true. I know the Premier League takes few weekends off, but how about on their boring Friday evenings they watch a damn Bundesliga match! It's embarrassing that English football pundits don't pay any attention beyond the country's borders - it's that kind of ignorance and superiority complex that gives the English a bad name across Europe.

From Merson over at Sky

'Fulham v Newcastle
PAUL PREDICTS: 2-1
The difference with Newcastle this season is that they've found ways to win, even when they haven't played well; we saw that against QPR. Fulham had a bad result against 10-man Blackburn, but they'll be looking to put that right at home and I think they will bounce back. '

In other words Newcastle know how to win and Fulham aren't very good. Therefore Fulham to win.

Sunderland 1-1 Newcastle
Newcastle 1-1 Chelsea
Newcastle 1-1 Swansea
Bolton 1-1 Newcastle
Newcastle 1-1 Man Utd
Newcastle 1-1 QPR
Fulham 1-1 Newcastle

Think Lawro likes predicting 1-1 draws for us...

Not being a betting man myself I'm sure some will point out my errors here, but I see it as a gambler only seeks help for their "problem" when they frequently lose. If they almost always win then there is no "probem" and so they're not labelled as having a "problem".
Now Paul Merson has history of having a gambling "problem" which to me suggests he's rather **** at the gambling game and therefore his ability to guess the outcome correctly is pretty slim.

I'd have expected both ours an Sunlans game to be tight affairs.

We have the ability to grind out results and still have a team that can do a job even with 2 0r 3 of our top players out. Cabaye might be out but would expect Ben Arfa to drop in there and Guthrie (if fit) to do Tiotes position of Defencsive midfield. I'd expect a reaction from Fulham but the pressure is on them and can see us getting at least a draw. But don't expect it to be a walk over.

Same with Sunlan.
People underestimate Swansea, there result against Arsenal wasn't a fluke. They are a good play on the ground football side that work hard when off the ball.
I can see this being a draw as well.

Lawro and merson are just an embarresment to football

"Newcastle are back in a big way because their win over QPR and their new manager Mark Hughes was one of their better ones this season." <doh>

I could think of a lot of better games than this one

<laugh> yeah, we looked so much more composed than when we played Man U or Spurs, especially in the first half <whistle>
