I thought....for one fleeting moment that willis had made the funniest joke in the history of ever. Then I realised he hadn't.

No, but we know the circumstances of his signing on so to cite Aluko as an example of Rangers paying out money wasn't perhaps a wise choice.

Aluko pays the compensation to Aberdeen that Rangers should have paid saving Rangers x amount. Rangers pay Aluko using the x they saved.
