After 4 lost games we manage a draw at Arsenal, is the rot stopped?

Tough games coming up against Liverpool and City.

Injured players coming back.

A run in against teams we should pick up points against.

So what do you realistically expect, rose tinted glasses off, yes but we are Sunderland so what do you expect, cast to one side.

Are we sill looking at Europe, happy and expecting a top 10 finish or will our season peter out?

Syd

I am just looking for the team to get back to winning ways and keeping the momentum going to the end of the season. They should all be playing for their places for next season and doing their utmost to satisfy the fans. The higher we finish in the league the more likely better players will come and it could also be the springboard to get some of the missing fans back.

Optimistic maybe but I am looking for at least 15 points from our last nine games. With the squad we have and players coming back from injury that is in my opinion a realistic target. After all if you have ambitions to be a top 6 club challenging for honours and Europe then your mindset should be focused to believe that you can win every time you go out on the pitch. Thats what the so called top 4 believe anyway.

Agreed, top 8 is achievable.

I'd love to say a win against Liverpool but I think it'll be a draw. 2-2.

Again, I'd love to see us nick something against City but I think we might struggle here...

After these 2 matches, I think we'll be picking up some points and having a strong end to the season. I wonder what reception Carrol will get!

think we'll finish 7th above bolton,
reckon we should be ok against city, still dont see where all that money they have spent has gone
liverpool is impossible to call, depends on which safc turn up and which lfc turn up, if they carry on like yesterday it had best be the safc that turned up against chelsea away, but should be a cracker.
as for the rest dont see anyone we cant realisticlly beat,
so 7th for me

Realisticaly 7th-8th but depending how Liverpool do poss 6th but would be quite happy with a top 10 place above the Barcodes

54~57 points I reckon....where ever that lands us......I'd be haapy

There's a big difference between hope and expect. Hope - 7th -9th. Expect - really can't say. From 6th down to bottom, surely this is the tightest Premier ever?

Could not agreee more Wherewereyou....I'm really worried about the naughty step tomorrow when Argus publishes the results.
For many seasons I could go 8~9 out of 10 on prem league results and get the odd bonus with a correct score......this year......shocking.

Hoping for top ten which was my dream at the beginning of the season. If we can build on Saturday's result and get some momentum going then I believe we will have turned a corner as Sunderland in years gone by would probably fade at this point and throw away so much good work in the earlier part of the season.
Keep it going, bed in the new lads and get the long term injured back in the squad and finish the season on a high. Keep weeding out those that are not part of the future, add to the squad through making loan deals permanent and signing a couple of more good players and the future will look bright, the future will be red and white!

I wonder what reception Carrol will get!

He wasn't too clever against Manure for the 20-25 minutes or so he was on, hopefully he'll be lacking a bit of match sharpness, as for the reception? Quite hostile I'd imagine

He is not and will never be Torres plus he may not fit in. If Gerrard plays badly then a big threat will be gone. Liverpool are beatable as are Man City. They are not as formidable as ManU or Arsenal

Agree with you mate, we should be going into these games to get something

Cyprus, getting back to your question I expect nothing less than eight and absolutely no mention of relegation otherwise (in my opinion) we will not really have improved from last season.
