Just a thought but if Scotland were to vote for independance they would then have to apply to join the european community and until excepted surely no scot could work or move to England,,what a great idea,,,no crap footballers coming south anymore
I'd vote for English independence, but will be very hard to extricate us from the Union. Just as it would be from the EU. In the long term it will be financially advantageous for England, but I would expect a lot of short term pain.
The funniest thing about Scottish independence is that they would have to join the Euro, which I rather fancy is going tits up in the not too distant future. What would they do then for currency?
Maybe the first thing we'll do is send some Scottish teachers down to teach you how to spell independence Independance It's your language. Try using it correctly.
Actually one of the thing I envy most about Scotland is your education system, which is so much better and fairer than ours (tuition fees etc.). Jolly well done, keep it up.
to SaintFanAlec not bitter at all ,,it was meant as humour ,being my grandfathers name was Busby and from Edinborough think i may have some conection with the scots ,,was going to post the comment on the Hooper thread after reading some of the comments put there by both sets of fans,,amazes me how people get personal and nasty so quickly, Personally would only be too pleased to let the Scots get independance then maybe the english parliment will look after english affairs more,,just my opinion,, just came back to england after 12 years away and i cant believe what i see ,my father would be turning in his grave to see how things have turned out and would ask why his generation fought and lost there lives to then be swamped with europeans,,probably not the site for this so appolagies for that
Also if Scotland became independent, it would mean that English students would be able to go to Scottish universities for free, as EU students currently do.
Independence For Scotland Now! Get them off the payroll. Ever wondered how they can afford free Uni fees? Or free prescriptions? Two words. English Taxpayers.
