I have been conducting some research...
A torrent sharing site, "The Box", has the first episode of every series as a "free" download so I've just downloaded every first episode of every comedy series going back 4 years. At least half of them I'd never heard of. Results so far:
After You've Gone - a bit like My Family, crap.
Angelo's - By the end of the first episode it was already apparent that the jokes were being repeated on a loop, spoiled by awful chav characters.
Coming of Age - unbelievably unfunny **** aimed at teenagers.
Dogface - Superhans out of Peepshow in a sketch show with a laddish humour straight out of Nuts or Zoo, had it's moments but not enough of them.
Grandma's House - Quite good, will download the entire series.
Grown Ups - Two Pints of Lager under a different name, ****.
Ideal - Still trying to make my mind up, probably won't bother.
Love Soup - Pretty good, maybe more aimed at birds but quite watchable, will download series.

i kept meaning to watch this but decided against it as it has been panned
