I´m sure Neil Lennon is aware that we like to keep our negotiations quite and away from the media, so why does he come out and make a song and dance out of everything, telling the press exactly what is going on behind the scenes. I know he is in his right to say and do what he wants but still can´t he show some respect.I obviously like to know what is going on and who we are in for but if Cortese doesn´t want that then there is a reason for it.

....and in what world is Hooper worth more than 30 million!? http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12691/7433741/Lennon-Hooper-worth-35m

What a total muppet.

his player, his club and he is perfectly entitled to come out and say about it - he aint gunna avoid the question just becayse thats the way we do it, every manager/club has different styles

If Andy Carroll is worth £35m then so is Hooper and many, many other players, including Lambert.

Don't worry the ginger midget will wake up next to a horse's head this morning.

He's doing it to make himself look better and make negotiations harder for us. Twattish thing to do but if he thinks it helps then fair enough.

He was joking guys! Hooper scored more then Andy Carroll when they we're in the Championship in the 2009/10 season. Andy Carroll left Newcastle for £35million (LOL) and Lennon's claimed that Hooper is the same/better then Carroll so matched the price for him.

I think everyone's taking this article too seriously. The trouble is, when on a website, you can't see his facial expressions. <laugh>

This seems to be the way Lennon does things. When the FA sent letters to 100+ players last month, with regards to possible Olympic selection, Lennon very quickly came out and publically announced that three of his players had received letters, and then proceeded to give out their names (Adam Matthews, and two others - I can't remember who).

Contrast that to Brendan Rodgers, who just days later admitted that he too had three players receive letters - but refused to publically confirm who the players were.

What, is he breaking the law or something? If any team approaches Celtic with an offer which Lennon considers derisory (which £4m is), then he is fully entitled to say anything he damn well pleases in respect of a "Celtic" player. If you want Hooper then offer us what he is worth in today's market.

Why not go shopping elsewhere for a striker for £4m, we can count out the EPL, you would not get a ****ing kit man there for £4m, but here's a newsflash, there are none for sale in Glasgow.

In the Scotland on Sunday it reports how he smirked as he said Hooper was worth £35m, a fact missed out by other media outlets no doubt for the purpose of mischief making.

No one, including Lennon, thinks that Hooper is worth £35m but he is using the Carroll fee as evidence of how much a striker costs these days. Hooper has more than proved his value at Championship level with the Irons. He's proved himself at SPL level and he's scored goals in Europe.

What Lennon is ultimately saying is if you want him you're going to pay the current market rate for him and that is considerably more than £4m.

There is a players market value and what he's worth to a manager. Unless you are in sever financial trouble like Rangers, what good is money if you can't replace the player and miss out on the title or Europe. Lambert is worth 10 times his market value to us when we are so close to promotion to the PL.

It's quite funny to see fans of a club like Southampton taking some kind of superior attitude to anyone. Rupert Murdoch and Sky really have done a magnificant job on some people.
