Wolves... Ade and VDV should never had played in this game. Ade is clearly out of form and needs a rest, whilst VDV does not preform at all well against weeker opposition whos sole intension is to park busses. Spurs now have a run of high-brow fixtures pending, with a run of crucial games in which we must now get results in order to stay in the hunt. We could have easily won this game (Wolves) with Defore and Kranjar instead of Ade and VDV. Thus keeping our powder dry for the coming run of fixtures., What do you think ?.
Not sure that I agree, to be honest, though I wasn't convinced by Redknapp's substitutions and Pavlyuchenko could've made a difference late on, if paired with Defoe. Resting and rotating needs to become more frequent. This is where we fell down last season and I don't think that we've done it enough in this campaign, either.
We could easily have won if the officials were not so incompetent and inept. But I reckon it is part of Adebayors loan agreement that he starts every game (when fit), so even if he needs a rest and is out of form we are stuck with him. The more and more I see him, the more I dont want him permanently. He isnt clinical enough and his touch can be abysmal, although when he is on it he is superb and also he has to be one of the unluckiest footballers with the amount of good goals he gets disallowed (wrongly) for offside. VDV is one of our best players but could still be rested on occasion.
Do you remember where the Parked the bus saying came from? I will remind you, it was the great Jose Mourinho talking about you lot lol
I agree about Niko. he's got a footballing brain and he's calm on the ball - we needed that little bit extra today in order to find some gaps to carve wolves open. pav however, too unpredictable. might score a thunderbolt, might also hit Row Z multiple times. Too much of a gamble that one, IMO.
Unfortunately, we are going to see more and more of this at WHL. Very few teams come to play nowadays - they come to survive. We have to learn how to deal with that.
Dixon., i wouldn't like to comment on what he and others are saying about you lot., so mind your own.
Well observed Arsenal went through this a few years ago, with lower teams simply shutting up shop. You have to find an alternative to break these teams down. Spurs' have enjoyed a bit of an unknown factor this season, but once teams wise up to dealing with how you play, it's going to get harder.
Yes because contesting a drop ball instead of doing the right thing and kicking the ball back gives your team the right to talk
As he won the Champion's League by doing the exact same thing, does that mean he learned the tactic that brought him his greatest success from the considerably less than great Jacques Santini?
How was it the right thing? The ref ballsed the whole situation up, but there should never have been a stoppage. Two Wolves players barely touched each other and then decided to both feign injury in order to timewaste. The ref should've ordered them both off the field for treatment and carried on. It would soon stop that sort of bullshit.
3-2 to Swansea i find that this approach works better PNP than trying to have a conversation with them
Hi Bajan. I think you are wrong to cut to the chase. Ade scored yet another goal that was wrongly disallowed, and I would always look to start VDV, and so does Harry, rightly. JD is not the Messiah, and Niko for VDV, no, no, no, oh and no again
Interesting stat from Redknapp Jnr. The Goons have now conceded more goals away from home than any team in the PL. More than Blackburn, even!
Evening All....I understand your point Ghoddle., but the facts remain., Ade is tired and VDV simply is not the same player when faced with bottom of the league opponents., The term "using a sledge hammer to crack a nut" springs to mind., Therefore I still think Defive (defoe) and Kranjar could have seen off Wolves at home.,
