.... all the bloody boring posts on here lately so I thought I would start an equally stupid one of my own so here goes:

    What is your favourite footware?

Mine is an old pair of smelly slippers I have had for over thirty years. The lovely mrs Godders keeps throwing them in the bin and I keep rescuing them.

Once everyone has contributed to this thread perhaps we can then get back to discussing football.

Etnies for the past 5 or 6 years. Vans before that. And DC's before that.

One day I will have to break out from the teenage skate shoe footwear but being 22 is still pretty much a teenager...clinging on to my youth :emoticon-0103-cool:

Who need's football related threads when you can talk about shoes! And we havent even had any female input yet <laugh>

What on earth are you talking about? Who said a thing about transit vans or electricity?

What shoes do you wear that is what this thread is about.

Etnies, Vans and DC's are all brands of a style of shoe called 'skate shoes' being originally used for skateboarding due to their flat surface and grip, nothing to do with our Pompey friends although having the same name as a style of shoe is somewhat a coincidence considering that we are walking all over them this season <whistle>

DC's may or may not stand for David Connolly :emoticon-0138-think

As you have raised the question of the lovely Mrs Godders I have to report that she caught me red handed trying to sneak that unlucky bloody coat of hers out of the house. I was going to pick up a friend from the Ferry Port in Portsmouth and thought that I would donate it to a charity shop in that fair city (cough cough splutter splutter) while I was there. Perhaps then their team would have the rotten luck. I was stupid enough to put the bin liner in which I had hidden the coat on the floor in the hall while put on my own coat when she appeared from the kitchen and asked what was in the bag. Just some junk for the charity shop I replied at which point she decided to look inside the bag and it was then that the sparks began to fly. I could not get her to see reason and she denied that the coat was unlucky and just to prove the point she would wear the coat to every remaining home game this season. Rather meekly I have to say I suggested she might like to watch Pompey at home rather than Saints at which point I cannot tell you anymore as it is got rather painfull from then on. Needless to say she blamed my disgraceful behaviour on the corrupting influence of "those silly people on that football 606 thingy website you spend all day visiting".

So I have been keeping a bit of a low profile of late and have been working on plan B for the coat. This involves it suddenly becoming splattered with white paint when I finally deside to decorate the spare bedroom. This I have planned for this Tuesday so she can't wear it for the Forrest game but the lovely Mrs Godders is very suspicious of my sudden enthusiasm for painting and decorating especially as she has been asking me to decorate the flipping room for the last five years or more. All I can say is she has a very suspicious mind. The only fly in the ointment at the moment is I can't find the coat as she has hidden it somewhere.

So next saturday if you see a little old whiskery man with a walking stick walking alongside a rather tall women in a paint splattered coat you will know that plan B has not worked.

Any advice in helping me with the destruction of this coat would be appreciated by every single Saints fan otherwise I am fearful that we may never win a home game again this season.

So you are into skateboarding big time are you? Otherwise why would you wear these shoes. I mean I like football but I don't walk about in my old football boots all the time.

I don't know. Will I ever understand you young lads of today?

Nope not a skateboarder. I wear these shoes for a reason that the elder members of the forum, dare i say it...such as yourself St Godders, can probably relate to. They are really comfortable! :emoticon-0103-cool: Lot's of soft padding due to their original purpose, even got my Dad wearing them.

I think I have the answer for you St Godders. Simply smuggle the coat out and take it too a local tailor. Ask the tailor to "take it in a few inches".
You may need a couple of goes, but the lovely Mrs Godders will simply think she put on a few pounds and when it looks tight it will be charity shop Time pronto!

The lovely Mrs Godders is a size 12 and eats less than a mouse. At the moment she is watching me like a hawk and now I have to paint the bloody bedroom and there is no chance of spilling paint on the coat because I don't know where on earth it is.
