Interesting table provided by Talksport, which shows a pretty impressive, if fairly slanted, league table.
This is the result of the games that have been played since the summer transfer window closed.

Now I now that Lidls is going to cry about it, but it still says a lot about how well we've done in that time.
It also emphasises exactly how important a couple of signings can be to a club.

Who can be the Parker and Adebayor of the January window for us?

Blimey, never realised we've been that good.

I doubt we'll pull another "Parker-esque" signing for a while, though with 'Arry in charge, I'm not ruling it out entirely!

I'll put the Lidl point. Who knows if we'd have beaten Man U/C with our full team.

    Course we would have!

So when people say ' The table does not lie' They need to remember at what point they are talking about. Only the final table tells the story, but that is over the last 38 games. Over the last 10 it might be different and so on.

What we need to do is beat City & United, how good would that be!

  5. That table is probably not a million miles from where things will be, come May.

Except that I'd swap Arsenal & Chelsea.

  6. Even better when you bear in mind that the one defeat was the Stoke Travesty!!!

Just a point there, and we'd have to beat Wolves to go top <wakemeI'mdreaming>

Add a couple of wins to your tally if you want, Lidls.
    You'd still be behind us.
I think that emphasises the point of the table somewhat, don't you?

I've just noticed that in those games, we've picked up as many points as Liverpool and Villa combined.
    That's a bit ludicrous.

This just goes to show what a difference the right addition to the team can make!

From the 68 games that QPR, Bolton, Wolves and Wigan have played in that period, they've amassed two more points than Spurs have from the 18 they've played.
    50 games more. 2 extra points. <laugh>

even if we drew with City as i think we could have achieved that..i think our team's head wasnt right...so we lost..but however that would mean we get 1 point and they lose 2 to what they currently have so we would be level on points...thers a very fine line there..i think we have recovered in a tremendous fashion......i think we are sneaking up slowly but surely and there is room for just one error from now till the end of season..when or if it happens i dont know...but i think we are passing through the season in perfection as we seem to be getting ready to peak exactly at the right time and players are coming back..its looking good..i wont say exactly what i think..ill say that when its in the bag..oooops...

Sorry don't buy into this table.

All you are doing is taking out two games we lost to the Mancs. Take away two of their defeats and we are third again.

    No, we wouldn't be.
Add 6 points to each of them and we'd drop behind City on goal difference and still be 3 points ahead of Utd.

That's not really the point of it anyway, in my opinion.

no the point is that its the firs 2 games of the season...which shows that tottenham have improved from then on in..its not about taking 2 defeats away...thats not the point...yeh lets take 2 defeats away from city...one was last week...ok what does that prove?

you havent thought about the purpose of this table have you?
