I had an emulator on my PC but a virus ****ed it. I'm considering just getting the Sega down out the loft when I get home from Preston tomorrow. I've got the Menacer too! :D

I always wanted one of those <laugh>. Especially for this game which scared the **** out of me as a kid:

Does anyone know what you had to do on Ecco the Dolphin? I played it this morning hoping to show off to my girlfriend how funny and simple the games were and I had absolutely no idea what I was supposed to be doing. You go right, then left, and that's it. Seriously, what is it?

I also remember a game for the commodore called 'pub quiz'. It was a text based adventure that i'm pretty sure was incomplete. If you went right you got run over. Left you walked into a door, forward you got electrocuted and backwards you'd see a tree. BUT if you went up the tree you couldn't get down, so you'd fall and die. Or if you ate an apple up there you'd be poisoned.

At the very beginning of Ecco you need to do a huge jump out of the surface of the water (get a big run up then press the 'ram/charge' button at the last minute) which starts a huge storm and begins the game. If that's what you mean.

Also can't believe what Lucasarts have done to the original two Monkey Island games. Absolutely bastardised them. The idea of revamping the graphics I suppose is slightly intriguing but which moron sat back and thought: "I know, let's rip the entire soul of the game out, eliminate the whole user-imagination concept and alienate basically all of the original fans of the games by plastering voices all over the top? When will people learn to leave classics be? :(

e- Not to mention, the voices are ****ing horrible too. Nothing like my childhood imagined them. Since when is Guybrush a total ****er?

Wasn't it Road Rash? Anyways, you had Viper though always had the chain, it was a make or break moment when you got next to Viper, as you'd either get knocked off the bike by the chain or grab it and knock him off.

That's the one, getting Road Rash mixed up with the expression 'Road Rage'. I remember trying to run past the finish line on that game if I fell off my bike, it never worked!

Haha, remember the Hockey games where you could fight and the whole game would stop whilst you beat someone up. There was also that thing on fifa 94 when if you were gonna get booked or sent off you could just run away from the ref and he couldn't book you until he caught you so you could do it for hours.

I remember doing that every time i got booked. Definitely not a waste of time in my book. And i've been running away from my problems ever since.

I remember both of them. NHL Hockey or something. All I ever tried to do was get into a fight. It was great. (I can only remember it on PlayStation though). I used to get for for 'Icing' all the time, I didn't have a clue what it meant, I was fuming everytime.

That's what disliked about Final Fantasy. They made the the central character sound like a whiny puff in FFX.

yeah, Tidus was a bitch.

when they remake FF7 (the best game ever) they'd better not gay it up with voice actors or westernise the appearance of the characters like in that ****ty movie

This <ok>

I had a hockey game with an NFL in the same cartridge. Never played the NFL game but the ice hockey one was awesome!

Edit: Best theme evaaa!

Anybody else get as outraged playing Ecco the Dolphin as I did? I remember seeing it in the shop thinking "Wow this is gonna be great, swimming all over the place, having some laughs with my dolphin buddies" only to discover it was pretty much the hardest and possibly most terrifying 'childrens' game ever invented.
I'd spend hours screaming at the **** to stop getting dragged back onto the spikes by those fans or whatever they were. I think my gamepad took some damage from that.

I recently read that they apprently they had to tone down how hard and scary it was after the first draft <laugh>.

Oh my god, yes. Absolutey mental game. It looked so fun, then at the start everything gets sucked out the sea and the screen goes crazy, before Ecco falls back in. Horrible stuff.

Lion King and Hang On were epic as well. Lion King was absolutely amazing. Swinging through the trees was amazing.
