This is what Delboy said about our team against Crawley.

    * I'm disappointed that we've lost the game. I think we were committed in the match but in the end we didn't show enough quality.

    * We knew exactly how Crawley were going to play and you have to give credit to them for their performance on the day.

    * However, with no disrespect meant, we had a strong enough team to beat Crawley Town. I expect us to be going into round four and I wanted a cup run.

    * We've let the club down and our supporters down. I'm not going to say we're now concentrating on the league .

    * Although retaining our Championship status is the priority, I wanted to have a good cup run.

He is not a happy man,he has said it loud and clear,we failed in the cup,the players let him, themselves and the supporters down,he is not hiding behind others, the message is loud and clear.

So by all means express your disappointment, but get off of the back of the man,the team we have got we're stuck with until July, maybe a few refinements in January and the Maynard situation will be resolved but the majority of the players will stay members of our team and as such we have to support the TEAM.

Since taking over Del has been in charge of 14 league and cup games,we have W6/L5/D3 and collected 21 points, the previous meatloaf achieved 6 points from 10 games and Del has just signed 2 players only.

We have progressed,we will get better, we have to stick with what we've got and support our team to the maximum,I'm not happy with the Crawley result but I am happy in the knowledge our manager has stated loud and clear that he's not either and the weaknesses will be dealt with.

He and Doc are the men to trust, imagine where we would have been,it's nice to have people in place to take us forward,I have not felt so secure about our club's future in quite a while, with the exception of the long hot summer of Coppell and look what that left us with, Millen.

Mid-table safety,15th place is very achievable,Up the City..

Agree with everything you say Wize.
McInnes has made a good start in turning things around - much more to do, but I do think he's on course to keep us up.

I heard the interview as well, and was uplifted with his comments, he seems to know what to say and I for one believe him.
I still think we could see some shocks with in's and out's of the club in January and the summer. I feel that he is not happy but had his hands tied with players at his disposal. And it must frustrate him as much as it does us when the same players can play like they did against Southampton and then play like they did against Millwall.
We have stopped getting beaten by more than one goal, where as before losing by 2 or 3 seemed regular, I know some one will put some stats on that comment!
He is now looking at Ricky Foster who plays both sides but more a left back than right, we need a goals scoring midfielder, plus a new front man to replace Maynard, if Maynard stays then someone to play up front with him. Not convinced with Maynard Pitman up front but feel Pitman could drop into a deeper role as he does have vision on him. Scholes started as a striker!
I think he will get us moving in the right direction albeit it this season could be a tricky one, just hope if it goes tits up we stick with him.

Agree to some extent with both comments, our manager has already given us quality and the doubters are already shouting their rubbish,it's not his fault he has inherited the problems but full marks,Del has faced them off and dealt with them,as has been said elsewhere we have got a quality man in charge, sod the doubters and go for it Del and Doc..

I don’t doubt Derek McInnes but I do doubt the commitment or ability of some in the squad. I just hope DM sorts them out quickly!
On the NM situation, I doubt if any other City striker would still be in the team if he had not scored for 9 games – I think the one against Millwall brushed his bootlaces at best and should have been given to Albert.

The best striker in the club is Maynard, like it or lump it whilst he is here we have to play him,why do you think a host of other clubs are reportedly after him,it's because he is quality.

Delboy is right to utilise him and await January business.

DM has said himself there hasn't been one single enquiry for Nick Maynard?

I'm beginning to wonder if Bristol City are paying Nick Maynard for their benefit or if it is the other way round!

If we are looking to build for the future, we should be keeping players such as Maynard...
If we had the ambition we would offer him a better contract.........I bet this time next year we will be all out looking for a striker!!!!

How far have they bent over????? Surely it depends on what they offered.....we don't know what the limit is..
Fact is, that he is the BEST striker we have at the club and my point is that if we have ambition to push on next season (so long as we avoid relegation this season) then we need players such as Maynard.
Like I said, if we sell Maynard I can see we will be searching for a striker to replace him in the summer........oh and they don't come cheap....not the good ones..

McInnes is making what he can out of a bad bunch, no decent funds or wage structure to bring in his own team. I am now firmly believing that players have more to answer to than managers, as decent managers are being given the boot left right and centre because of under-achieving players who value their services way to highly.

We have a good manager with reasonably good success in his first managerial position, and he is definitely the future. But with no money to spend, only able to bring in cast offs from other clubs, we won't be moving forward anytime soon. The majority of our team, in the cold light of day, just simply are NOT good enough at this level. I refused to blame the manager for that, and in fact celebrate he can get results like he gets at Southampton, West Ham, out of this bunch of players.

To be fair I haven't seen anyone blame the manager?
