http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12970/7285016/Uchebo-set-for-Stoke-talks Young Nigerian striker Michael Uchebo is set to travel to Stoke City for talks about a move to the Potters. The 21-year-old is with Dutch club VVV Venlo but is out of contract next summer although a move could materialise before then. The 6ft 5in highly-rated forward is yet to play for Nigeria's senior squad although he has represented them at a youth level. But it is thought that he may have a problem in being issued with a work permit to play in the Premier League. VVV sporting director Mario Captein has revealed that Uchebo could travel to England for talks within the next fortnight. and here he is guys another 6' 8" giant
That looks like diao to me, why would he be in Stoke training top if hes having talks? Not doubting you waddo.
He looks alright on the video and for a big guy he seems to have a nice touch and a fair bit of pace, something that KJ lacks or decides not to do! Again (Groundhog Day), not really sure why we are even looking at a striker, even if KJ goes, we have 4 good quality strikers with a combination of pace, power, height and work ethic! After the Gillingham game where we played 4 CB's, one of our RB's at RW and pacey striker as a LW and the fact that we have always had a centre back at RB and CM at LB, surley there are other areas that we can concentrate on! I have said it before and said it again, we could have Messi upfront, but if our only route to getting him the ball is via a full length hoof then it becomes pretty pointless?
Re forwards and Saturday, I thought that RF looked very sharp when he came on. A lot better than KJ. Much more effort and used the ball well. Well done Ricardo!
I think Fuller is a perfect impact sub on 70 mins to ruf up the defence and where he cant pace him self (or be lazy) because he is playing 90 minutes. Jerome has to be given more of an opportunity to rotate with Crouch and Walters, otherwise what was the point in siging him! I would let KJ go and lower the wage bill a bit or reinvest it into a nice composed CM!!
I think when the players to be come for their medicals etc. they get kitted up in Stokes colours. It was defo him and not Diao in a Stoke tracksuit mate.
Having seen that video it would seem this guy may well be worth signing up. Let us hope he can get a permit and KJ goes to QPR.
You know the internet Sarge someone knows a man that knows a man that knows a man etc. Was on one of the other forums somebody said they knew someone at the ground and he had signed around 2:30pm but until I see it in black and white you are like me mate!
Now as my missus will tell you I am easily excited but he looks good to me. Tony would have to do something about those forward runs he makes though, far too attack minded.
I thought his forward running looked immense. Imagine him and Walters doing that we would be awesome along with Ethers and Pennant up the wings!
Who cares about the knees? That guy for his size moves quicker than **** off a shovel. Can't do any harm and IF we HAD signed him guys, I would know by now. TRUST me. We're in for a surprise sooner, rather than later and IF my info is right, he usually is. Hang on to your hats.. Smither's ONE clue this guy is a Right sided midfielder and quality. He can also play on the left. It does I believe depend on one player from Stoke moving the other way. If this info is right, I think he's perfect for Stoke. And, he's not six feet plus.
Don't know about everyone else, but I always get a little more excited when we're linked with a player I know next to bugger all about. All the signings we've made since promotion (bar Arismendi) have been well-known to us and, by and large, it's served us nicely. However, when the likes of Remy, Ba and Uchebo are linked strongly with us and then actually arrive at the training ground, the element of not knowing how good the player is makes adds some intrigue to the plot.
The W M. What will bug me is that Demba Ba we know came to the Brit then we didn't sign him I don't like the part of that article which say's.. in the next week or so... He may have a problem getting his work permit.. IF we do sign this guy. i HOPE he isn't another Arismendi and we actually PLAY HIM. From what i've seen , watching the whole of that video link he looks the real deal.
Fair point, but this lad is 20, Fuller is 32, and Crouch hasn't got too many years left in him. Reportedly gonna cost 1mil for this guy, which seems pretty fair. As for other areas we need to concentrate on, LB, and a half decent winger for cover.
