Torres now has his chance to prove himself.

My big question is; what should we do if he doesn't score at all during the period Drogba is away?

If we stick with the 4-3-3 I can definitely see that happening but the good news is that today he played well and also against Wolves, getting into the right positions and being fairly powerful in the air. Two assists today so not taking that away from him, I just think it's a massive problem if he doesn't score after a run of games now.

Theres a solution. Play Sturridge down the middle with Torres on the right. Torres has a fine cross and plays extremely well when cutting in for us. I think that should be tried.

Our midfielders are doing all the scoring, thanks to the work put in by our strikers, . My guess is Ramires and Lamps PL top scorers and Torres top provider!

To be honest i don't think he has to prove himself at all, his time to shine but he don't have to prove himself. His a quality player and quality for us and our #9, drogbas been quality but he can **** off as far as i'm concerned now, we need to get that big ego out of our club now and get the old team spirit back. Drogba past, Torres present, Lukaku future. Come on chelsea!!!

Ramires is one of the best in the league IMO, can you imagine him with somebody like Moutinho next to him? Wow.

Now Torres, of course he needs to prove himself, we need a goalscorer up top and he has been FAR from quality let alone £50m!

He has been quality, his done the best he can in a team that's lacking creativity and that play him in the wrong formation and the one person that can feed him juicy passes we play on the left instead of in the middle behind him lol

Maybe you're right, but for £50m I expect him to score at least!

If we have Mata behind him I'm 100% confident he can score goals <ok>.

Yeh i know what you mean mate, his scored a few and had a handful disallowed but it's not about the goals for me in my opinion, it's his presence, we look so much faster and so much more threatening, his vision is quality aswell look at the wolves game last week, he noticed a gap and played a lovely ball to ash who then set up lamps goal and also made 3 other great chances, plus todays assists. We just look so much more better and he makes us so many chances and adds so much pace, it's all good having a striker that can score every game but if he don't do anything else and then has a off-day then were ****ed, at least when torres isn't scoring his making and creating

No it's not about the goals all the time but IMO it is when you aren't playing as well as you should be (like we are at the moment), when a team isn't playing well it needs it's striker of all people to be saving the team!

He has chipped in I'll give him that! Doing a lot better than other flops in the league but I just wish for his own sake he'd score!

Yeh i know what ya mean mate but his not getting the chances his making the chances at the moment, it's not like his missing oppurtunities, he had one chance today from a header and the portsmouth keeper did very well to save it. All i'm saying is it's not his fault and it's not like his getting chance after chance and playing in the best system for him yet his still doing great and giving 100%

You get the feeling he's playing well with absolutely no luck. Keepers making great saves against him, hitting posts etc. Point is he's running all over the shop, getting into good positions, and giving everything. He LOOKS as if he's playing well, unlike a few weeks ago when his head was down. I hope and suspect the goals will come soon.

Agree with that, I thought he played well and looked sharp. Definately on the turn to top form.

I see the few weeks ahead as the turning point. If he can pop a few in while Drogs is away, then I reckon the flood gates will open, and we may never see Drogs in Chelsea Blue again!

As a striker he needs to be more selfish to get the goals, but the way he is playing and getting the assists is great for the team. Torres, Mata, and Ramires are the spark in this team.

Thats because you didnt have man citys reject, whereas we have a world class striker who makes chance after chance which will mean more goals
