If Boskamp had been given the money that Tony has spent. Jesus Christ, we would be outplaying Barcelona @ their own game.
We'd still be losing 5-3 every game though, if we kept with Boskamp we'd never be where we are now. We'd still be struggling in the Championship.
I could cope with the crap football if we were winning! We need some more entertainment! Don't know if any of you know anything about UFC, but Anderson Silva (regarded as the best pound for pound fighter in the world) hasn't got a great fan base, because people think he is a boring fighter, they want to be entertained, but he says, he fights to win, not to entertain. This is how I used to think about Stoke, doesn't matter if it's ugly, as long as we're winning, but that tactic doesn't seem to be going so well anymore. . .
I'm guessing that is regarding out style of play. You'd rather we play classy, slick football but lose 5-3? Or play a physical game and win/draw?
jub under boskamp we won more away games than we did at home, now that was entertainment. As a fan watching that type of football was brilliant & it didn't matter that we were in the lower reaches. Coming back from away games, it did not matter if we lost, because everyone was buzzing.
Away or at home? Who cares? A win is a win. Points mean everything - and I can tell more confidence in Stoke then the old team, were just unique.
If we still had Johan Boskamp as manager we would not be in the Championship, we would be in the doldrums of lower league football playing against the Vale and Crwho every weekend. If Boskamp was that good why isn't he currently employed by a football club? I prefer to be where we are and in relation to Anderson Silva, I saw his fight at the last UFC event, he smashed the lad with his knee right in his face anf laid in to him on the floor. I believe that is the one thing we lack, when we are on top in a contest we fail to take advantage EVERY single time. That is what annoys me!
