Yep, definitely. He deserved his chance to start before xmas, espescially when Drogba was so off form...scoring 5 against spurs in the reserves warranted ate least 60 mins in my view...he started to look sharper all season...

Sending Sturridge out on loan is to aid his development, and gain first team experience in the Prem, a bit like Wilshire last year for Arsenal. The connundrum will be at the start of next season if we don't make any changes to the squad, ie moving players on. I think Drogba may go, leaving Torres, Anelka and Sturridge to play up top... I'm sure it will aid his development, I'm just intrigued as to why he's doing the business at Bolton, who are only 3 places below yourselves in the league, but not able to do it for Chelsea when he's got superior players around him. It's the same league against the same players after all. This is the Chelsea board, so I won't start talking about what went wrong at Saints other than to say there was a lot. Yeah , Itchen North Matt was saying what is the logic behind sending your most in-form striker out on loan. But he has found form now, but wasn't in form at chelsea, as you say mainly because of his lack of action. So you were right to send him on loan, it will prove beneficial, provided he returns....
How much did Chelsea pay for him? I'm surprised they didn't send him out sooner if they thought he had star potential.

Maybe sending Sturridge on loan was a great move. Heôs getting 90 minutes every week and gaining invaluable PL experience. Drogba and Anelka canôt go on forever and Sturridge has a big future at Chelsea if he wants it.
