Scott sinclair scores his 21st goal of the season today (yes 21st) as swansea beat leeds utd. Here is yet another of our young players who never got a real chance in our team going on and finding the back of the net for someone else while were crying out for someone with a bit of pace and trickery which he has and so did stoch who we just got rid of before he was really tried, feckin daft.<steam><steam>

    Yep, definitely.

He deserved his chance to start before xmas, espescially when Drogba was so off form...scoring 5 against spurs in the reserves warranted ate least 60 mins in my view...he started to look sharper all season...

so you respond to your main striker being out of form by spending £50m on another out of form while letting your form striker go out on loan to a rival, and you wonder where Chelsea are going wrong?

Sending Sturridge out on loan is to aid his development, and gain first team experience in the Prem, a bit like Wilshire last year for Arsenal.

The connundrum will be at the start of next season if we don't make any changes to the squad, ie moving players on.

I think Drogba may go, leaving Torres, Anelka and Sturridge to play up top...

Out of interest, where do you think Southampton went wrong?

It all went wrong with Scummers (I'm a Pompey boy) when they moved out from that football hotbed 'The Dell' into the 30'000 all seater...

    Oh yeah - & Le-Tiss retired<whistle>:emoticon-0102-bigsm

I'm sure it will aid his development, I'm just intrigued as to why he's doing the business at Bolton, who are only 3 places below yourselves in the league, but not able to do it for Chelsea when he's got superior players around him. It's the same league against the same players after all.

This is the Chelsea board, so I won't start talking about what went wrong at Saints other than to say there was a lot.

Just that from a Saints fan, letting your form players go on loan to your league rivals is a pretty alien concept and I'm interested in seeing what you guys think.

    Yeah <ok>,
Itchen North Matt was saying what is the logic behind sending your most in-form striker out on loan.
But he has found form now, but wasn't in form at chelsea, as you say mainly because of his lack of action. So you were right to send him on loan, it will prove beneficial, provided he returns....

How much did Chelsea pay for him? I'm surprised they didn't send him out sooner if they thought he had star potential.

An initial compensation fee of £3.5 million with additional payments of £500,000 after each of 10, 20, 30 and 40 first-team competitive appearances. There will also be a further payment of £1 million if the player makes a full international appearance, and Manchester City will receive 15 per cent of any sell-on fee if Sturridge is transferred.
    Lots of additional terms <laugh>

Maybe sending Sturridge on loan was a great move. He´s getting 90 minutes every week and gaining invaluable PL experience.

Drogba and Anelka can´t go on forever and Sturridge has a big future at Chelsea if he wants it.
