Not far off though is it. Especially when you consider the standard of the mistakes, involving dropping a ball bouncing right in front of you, saving a shot straight at you with your chest and then THAT goal...

Kelvin has made two goal costly mistakes in two matches. Bart made one but he does not play every week so was very nervous i expect.

Nerves shouldn't be an excuse, they were routine exercises for somebody who is supposed to be a high level professional. Not gonna start up the whole Bart debate because I can't be arsed but there's a reason Davis has been the first name on the team sheet since he signed.

He cost us the bristol game and started the demise at brighton. If i was nigel i would give bart another chance. he made 3 or 4 good saves today that kept us in the game. (i was not there but there have been many people saying this)

He was dodgy in the Bristol game but most of them were, he can't be blamed. Bart doesn't deserve another chance in the league until he continues impressing in the cup, there've been mixed reviews today. No point risking him in the league if his nerves can't take it.

Bart made one good save today right on half time, which was a point blank header which was straight at him <whistle>

Davis is the best keeper we have and one of the best in the league!

I wouldn't class Aaron Martin as a youngster now, he's been with us for 2 years. Played a fair amount of games and has impressed, only kept out by José and Jos.
He matured into a great CB that still has lots of potential. IMO, would class him as our 3rd best CB now after the three games in a row that he's played. <ok>

Before Martin scored today I said he had had a fantastic game!

He really stood out compared to the rest of the defence!

    Was faultless!

As a professional goal-keeper, one would assume his job is to keep goals from occurring. If he fails to do that in a manner that could have been avoided, then he can in fact be blamed.

Lets settle this: Davis is a good keeper who has been a great servant and made quite a few match winning saves, as well as a couple of errors. Bart is also a decent keeper but should be 2nd choice. His performance against Blackpool was horrendous, but that doesn't automatically make him a bad keeper. Kelvin should and will be 1st choice for the rest of this season atleast. Bart will remain a good backup, but i'm not sure he will ever be good enough to be first choice, especially if we get promoted.

he has been very unlucky, as when he has played he has impressed me every time - 3rd choice now IMO, or he should be

Martin seems to be a player who takes his chances...already don't worry when he has to play. He will definately be kept and has a future with Saints. Perhaps we have another goal machine in the team<whistle>

And the role of the defence is to stop shots happening, the role of the midfield is to create chances and the role of the forwards is to take those chances. As every single one of these failed in their roles, you can't blame one out of eleven for the match being lost :)

Not in the first half he wasnt. Hooiveld and Martin were pretty shambolic in defence in the first half - a better team would have scored 2 or 3 against us. I was glad that Juke wasn't playing. 2nd half they were both much better (as most of the team were).

Changing the formation helped all the team in the second half. We looked poor first half, sloppy goal and our defence really
missed Fonte. Too many times we let the strikers in behind us & too many poor back passes
putting Bart under unnecessary pressure. As a crowd we were nervous.
Pleased to say Adkins tactics took the pressure off the defence & were able to secure a win.
